    Will do sir!

When I get em out to shoot I'll take some pictures for everyone! Pretty ingenious design using aluminum tubing and some custom brackets!

Since the year is 1/2 over, perhaps an update is in order.

Been shooting .300 Blackout, .375 Socom and .458 Socom rifles, silenced and not silenced and some really small SBR rifles! That's been a trip as I had the pleasure of developing the supersonic and subsonic loads for those rifles. Some of our .375 Socom subsonic loads have done very well at 300 yards even though we never thought that was possible!

Once our experimentation finds the loads that work well, a manufacturer will be charged with producing our special loads for sale.

Friend Jim is a licensed manufacturer so I've had the pleasure of shooting some pretty wild firearms and silenced pistols, too!

The past 6 months has also allowed me to get into one of my true loves............ lever action rifles! I loaded some 45-70 and .44 Magnum for my rifles and soon.............we'll do some piggie hunting. My pig gun is a Marlin 45-70 guide gun 18 1/2" with Nikon scope. Wanted one of those for decades!

We ran out of .375 Socom brass and that is due in very soon.

The wild hog meat has been WONDERFUL so Friend Bonnie and I will learn the butchering and freezing or freeze drying the hog meat for food. The last helping of wild pig ham is good enough to haunt us! YUM! The freeze dried meat is also vacuum packed with a 25 year shelf life.

Just got a Victorinox set of butcher knives in on Saturday, and some aprons and gloves are coming next.

    Range improvement.
    Improve my long range shooting.
Apparently I need an app on my phone.

I feel like I've met my goals.
    Always room for improvements.
I've got a good group helping me with the range, and with my shooting.

Pushing me might be a better term.

I completed my 2017 goals, unless I fail by buying a Glock. Bought a bolt action .223 Savage 11 to complete my list of required acquisitions. That thing has been a hoot to fuss over and work up loads for. Even more of a hoot to shoot. No way to find a cheaper center fire rifle to shoot.

    One more 2017 goal achieved!

    My shooting goals for 2017...

Two other goals are for the Rimfire Central Offhand Rifle Challenge:
    - Get a 25-yard score of 485 (out of 500). Best to date is 479.
    - Get a 50-yard score of 225 (out of 250). Best to date is 218.

I shot a set of targets yesterday morning and got a 485-9X, beating my previous PR of 483-14X from June. Only one shot was in the "8" ring, the rest were 9's and 10's.

That knocks out both goals for the RFC Offhand Challenge, therefore my new goals are...

    - 25-yard score of 490 (out of 500)
    - 50-yard score of 232 (out of 250) to beat the all-time top score of 231.

Got five more months to get it done.

Ohio (But my heart is in Texas)
Haven't bought much of anything since moving to Ohio (BOOOO) due to time and money. My goals are this, though:

    - Glock 19 to replace my EDC of my XDS .45 (I like it, but don't care for the trigger. Plus I want more than 6 rounds). Will likely carry the XDS from time to time, but the G19 will be my standard go-to carry.

    - Cricket .22lr for my daughter (ACHIEVED!)

    - Assemble my 24" varmint rifle (Anderson lower, CBC upper) and my .300blk (also Anderson lower, CBC upper). I bought all of them prior to the election as insurance against Hillary. Got everything at good prices (except for the lowers, which were a bit higher priced, but it was a small, local shop so I was fine with supporting them). I've only been to the range a handful of times since then, and have just not had the time to sit down and build out my first rifle. So I want those done by the end of the year.

When the 2018 thread starts, I plan to have loftier goals!

Last week I got a 25-yard score of 488-12X (a new PR and just two points shy of my goal) and yesterday I got a 50-yard score of 228-5X (also a new PR and four points from my goal).

    Woot!
