I've been looking quite a bit, and from what I can find, the Canadian parliament hasn't even voted to implement the 'Emergencies Act'. Yet the news keeps stating that the actions taken yesterday were through the Canadian Emergencies Act. Could be why all those arrested were ticketed for misdemeanors and released on the outskirts of Ottawa.

From what I’ve seen, the parliament doesn’t need to vote to implement the act. Their vote only matters if it gets voted against.

So by cancelling Friday they basically prevented it from being stopped until tomorrow. Kind of like Biden doing the eviction moratorium knowing full well that SCOTUS would end it, but doing it anyways knowing it would be in effect until they did.

Yeah, you could be right. The good thing is that the actual optics, not the no evidence narratives, has been seen by many of the MP's. So many are predicting it may be taken away from Trudeau tomorrow.

But it will have had the desired effect already. At least ridding Trudeau (SP) of most of the truckers. He knew it wouldn’t hold, he just needed unrestrained power long enough to swat away the dissidents.

You are correct about the optics though. Despite the media attempting to control the narrative it seems a lot of people, maybe most have seen though it and realized that they watched cities burn during 2 years of peaceful protest with no action. And now bank accounts are frozen, people beaten, and many arrests made (with threats of hundreds of more to come) for a group that hasn’t damaged anything and has made no attempt to forcefully defend themselves.

It was a textbook “peaceful protest”. I’m really surprised they were able to keep a group that large on such good behavior.
