Shat is the deal with CTD? is it because of the idiotic way they handled their inability to keep up with orders?

As far as CTD/CTDOS. I contacted the website about it a long time ago and they said they only have one store (the one in McKinney).

Made me wonder if it was a divorce settlement. She got the site and McKinney store and he got the FW store...

The deal is what many perceive as price gouging. $130 for a used metal GI AR mag? They were $10 two months prior.

    OK...I was just curious....

The laws of supply and demand become annoying when supply can't keep up with demand...

    Thanks

I stopped in CTD today, McKinney store.

Cheapest ARs (bushmaster, cmmg, s&w) were $2000. Colt 6920 was $2800. Ruger SR556 was $3000. Colt 6940 socom version was $4000. Fortunately they did not have an HK or I might have stroked out.

glock 19 was $615 (usually $499 at gun show).

Stopped by Gungeartogo (Plano - 75/Parker Rd) yesterday. Picked up an XDM 3.8 9MM Bi-Tone for my wife last night. Seems like they had a bunch of Springfields that just came in.

Cabelas got a shipment last Saturday. To fill the cabinets, they were putting out triples of everything. I was helped pretty quick but it took me well over an hour to check out.

If you're patient and look for oddball items that aren't common, you can still find deals cropping up in this crappy buyer's market. About the only thing I've gotten screwed over on price are the two AR stripped lowers that I just recently purchased. One was an Aero Precision for $200 but I got that direct from them so I didn't pay any more than their retail. The other is a Noveske N4 lower that I was barely comfortable paying $330 for but I wanted to honor John Noveske by having his company's name prominently be a part of my dream custom AR build. I'm heavily into NFA so one is going to be a 5.56 SBR with a Silencerco Saker suppressor and the other a 300BLK SBR with my existing Osprey .45 can that I can use with subsonic rounds. I've already got an Adams Arms 11.5" piston Evo Ultra-lite upper (paid retail at $1067) for the 5.56 with Noveske and somewhere down the road I'll slap on an AAC 12.5" upper on the AP lower. I'm so poor right now :(

I wish they had a cabelas here

Hey, if you want to be overcharged and treated rudely, I'll sell you stuff! LOL

I've been to the Cabela's in Allen three times, and this was before all the insanity, and it wasn't a pleasant experience any of the three times.

As for any shops having anything to sell, I have never seem the local shops I frequent so empty! Even the one that routinely had the highest prices before the madness is very, very low on inventory.

Gander mountain wants a piss test this Wednesday. When I pass, I will have a 20% discount on everything. Guns and ammo too. Even with their crazy markups I can get a hell of a deal.

If you know what you want, buying on line from sellers like Bud's is a good option. I use a guy in Bedford that charges $10 transfer fee with CHL and $15 without. Simple and easy. Also Sporting Arms in Lewisville is very accommodating with reasonable prices. They don't keep a lot of inventory (work out of their house) but in the past have pretty quick access to a large variety of guns. Again, you need to know what you want. If you just want to shop and handle guns, then Cabela's has a good selection but more expensive unless on sale. Then there is the gun shows. I know a lot of folks bitch that gun show prices are way high, and many are, but you can see and fondle a lot of guns, and sometimes find a deal.

I have a Sig P226 9MM I might part with if you're interested in that gun.
I have a friend in Marble Falls who is an FFL, He has some AR's he's selling, four or five, I think. He's also reasonable.

I was at Ray's in Dallas on Saturday and for the first time in over 40 years of going there, I saw empty cases. Good for Ray's but bad for anyone looking to buy. Academy in Plano had a few but no Glocks, M&P's or any AR types.

Take a look at the gun show schedule. You can find good deals and a great selection. I've been to the lat couple of weekends and the m&p is everywhere for great prices. I just bought one for my wife.

Show schedule this weekend - Texas Gun Shows Weekend Preview Feb. 23-24, 2013 | Texas Gun Show Review

Good vendors at the Mesquite and Irving shows - lots of M&P's to be had a decent prices. Consider the Sig Armorer if you're really interested in a Sig.

For locals, Winchester Gallery and Cabelas are good choices.

    good luck!
