But once they do their time why should they be punished for the rest of their lives?

John Smith steals $10k from gramma, does 5 years. Why should he never be allowed to hunt or use a firearm for the rest of his life?
There's a difference between felonies and misdemeanors. States are also frequently capable of allowing folks to have their rights restored after a certain time, depending upon that state's law and also depending upon what type of felony the conviction was.

Although nobody ever knew how a felon was to get his gun to his house, it has been a given that in your space you could defend yourself in any manor. I even heard this growing up in California. Of course Arkansas gave us the Clintons, so laws mean little there

Her husband's gun was in the house legally I presume.
A guy supposedly breaks in and is attempting to rape her.
She uses husbands gun to protect herself.

Is this wrong if the supposed facts are true?

You may presume too much. I'm not sure how it works in Arkansas but isn't it generally against the law to provide a felon with a firearm? I mean, you can't knowingly sell one to a felon, so I would think leaving one laying around where it can be accessed by a felon living there would be against the law too.

I hope she gets a good lawyer. In my eyes she was doing what it takes to defend herself, and that to me takes precedence over any possession charge.

    X1000
And she was in her home minding her own business
Its not like she was on the street dealing and had to defend herself
The prosecutor is being a Richard Noggin

There has to be more to this.

Hmmm. I have to agree with that.

Article says she was charged for being in possession from November 7, 2017 to December 7, 2017 (date of the shooting) but she wasn’t charged until late August, 2018.

But then again we know about the accuracy of reporters and their editors these days.

Animals have rights, too! Seriously, y'all don't see the problem here?

She WAS A FELON BREAKING THE LAW!!! Not every one gets a gun. VOTING IS A RIGHT. GUN OWNERSHIP IS A RIGHT. WALKING THE STREETS FREE IS A RIGHT.

But convicted crimminals lose some of them!
So....you and the prosecutor support the deaths of white people and unborn children?

    Must be a Democrat.....

Who do you know, that having been convicted of a MJ charge, and being attacked violently and fearing for their life, wouldn’t grab a gun if one is near and shoot the said attacker in the face?

I know many that don't own guns, and some of those that are afraid of guns, but I don't know any that have access to a gun that wouldn't use it to save their lives.

I don't ask if any were convicted of a marijuana charge, so I wouldn't know if any had. I can care less if anyone uses marijuana, as long as it doesn't involve me.
