I have an STi (hatchback). It'll haul ass and the grocerys in the rain/snow/dirt/whatever.

I was vegetarian for a few years, but then I decided I like BBQ, steaks, and bacon and gyros too much to stay that way. Austin is a very good place to live if you are a veggie. It's been I while since I was there, but Veggie Heaven on the drag (Guadalupe) across from UT is awesome, Mother's Cafe on Duval, Madras Pavillion @ Burnet and 183 (southern indian -their mysore dosas are killer), Frank and Angie's Pizza, Thai Kitchen on Guadalupe (if it's still there), Mr. Natural - for good mexican veg) are all great places I used to go. But just about every place else that has good food also has something good for veggies.

I do eat seafood on occasion. That's one area where i cannot avoid, i love fish too much. I'll have to check those places out! If you wanna get together for dinner or something one night, let me know. I know a few people out here, but need to network more.

I'm about 10 hours west of Austin baking in the heat of Chihuahuan desert or I'd take you up on that. I'm hatching a plot to return to the Hill Country in the not too distant future though. I won't be leaving this time.

Aside from the politics the only other thing that really blows about Austin is the traffic. It nearly ruined the place for me. I'm sure it's much worse now.

    Welcome to Austin. :)

I'm a member at the Austin Rifle Club. WAY better than any indoor range, and usually mostly empty. I could probably take you there as a guest sometime, if you like.

You are very brave to admit this. Having and wearing those shoes that is.

I really could care less what others think. They are comfy as hell, and these things are a hell of allot stealthier than big clunky boots if shtf.

And I thought my little 25'x25' garden was big

Wow, so much in this thread to reply to, don't know how I missed it. kyletxria1911a1, whattup bro!?

Welcome from the radical right. Nothing wrong with some Whole Foods/Sprouts/REI though. There is more to life than Walsmart.

Listen to some 90.1 FM to get introduced to our Brave New Books anti-flouride set. ATX is less outlaw country and more crazy cali now, but still a mix I suppose. I'm devoted to getting the socialists in this town to wakeup before they screw it up here like the hell holes they left to join us in our life boat.

Red's sucks. There are some good gun shops around and some lousy ones. GTDist is pretty awesome. I highly recommend Austin Gun Liquidators in Round Rock and my local Academy is good as it's staffed by a few actual gun guys.

Best of the West is awesome. 1000 yard range anyone? So is ARC but I've only shot IDPA there. Oh, and IDPA is awesome too.

    HEB FTW!

Austin Gun Liquidators? a wha wha?

Im heading up to best of the west sometime next week. Been so damn busy and kinda learned about all the mountain bike trails out here, so that has kept me super occupied after work.

HEB is cool. Went to Sprouts in Round Rock the other day - wasn't too impressed, but got raw local honey at least.

HEB sells a lot of local products if you look. Honey, pancake mix (from Kerbey lane), they make pretty good fresh salsa, fresh tortillas, etc

Look for the Goodflower raw honey at HEB. Comes from Round Rock I think.
