Any particular place in the DFW metroplex you'll be visiting? As you probably know, it's a pretty big area geographically, and you can drive an hour and a half from one corner of DFW to another depending on traffic.
Aside from that and in addition to the other shops mentioned above, one other cool gun shop to visit is the Beretta Gallery in Highland Park. Granted, you need to be rich to buy some of the stuff from there, but where else can you get a glance at $100K+ shotgun beauties!
All suggestions above are great places. But NOT Cheaper Than Dirt, and no its not politics, its that there customer service sucks donkey balls. Trust me.
For gun stores I use Call to Arms in Denton. It's a small store and they don't have a lot of firearms on hand but will order whatever you want for a very small mark-up. It's run by a friendly Father/son team and always have coffee on the pot and a couple of good ol' boys willing to shoot the shit with you.
I've never been to their store but see them at gun shows (big display). My only dealing with them was several years ago a few weeks after my F-150 pickup had been stolen with 6 of my guns in it. A guy had come in with a AMT Automag in .44AM wanting to pawn or sell it, and had been trying to use .44 Mag ammo. The Bachman guy assumed that the customer didn't know anything about the gun and probably was not the real owner, so they made an excuse and went in the back and called the police. The gun was determined to be the one that had been stolen from me and the perp was collared by the cops. Unfortunately, the nab did not enable the rest of my guns to be recovered, but I got the Automag back without even having to pay a pawn fee (the pawn didn't ever happen). The next time I saw them at a gun show, I went by and thanked them for being so attentive.I looked up Bachman's and saw it wasn't too hard to get to from the office so I went there over lunch.
Very impressed with the store. I wouldn't say all of their prices were great. A few handguns were marked up well past what I would be willing to pay for them but for the most part the prices were about normal and sometimes a little less than I've seen elsewhere. The selection was outstanding and they actually have ammo (slight mark-up, not bad considering they don't have Wal-Mart's buying power) and tons of magazines.
Will definitely be returning.

Just a thread I wanted to see. I'll be heading up to north Dallas around Lewisville/Flower Mound area. I'm mostly into curio and relic collector firearms. Could someone suggest some stores that might carry those items? Don't mind traveling 30min or so from that area.
As for Jackson Armory, I've been there once and browsed at just about everything and was never asked if I needed help or wanted to look at something in the display cases. I was a bit surprised by that, but I didn't speak up because their prices were absolutely INSANE on almost everything. You should check them out on Gunbroker. They try to sell regular run-of-the-mill firearms for $100-$200 more than what everyone else is selling them for. They also put language in the item description about not contacting them with negative comments about their prices, or they will report you to Gunbroker. I guess the truth hurts. However, they just might have something special and unique that may be of interest to you, but be prepared to pay a high premium. I guess the value of anything is what another person is willing to pay for it...even if it sits on the shelf for years and years until the right sucker comes along.
