And what a fucking clusterfuck for normal daily life the week before final exams and graduation!

All their lives will be affected by this aspect of it ON TOP OF first place being affected by the trauma of the shooting.

And so sad that some students are not going to survive and make it there.

I also saw on the news report that some parent waiting to collect their kid got very upset because some asshat waving an American Flag and OC a pistol on his hip was out there trying to “comfort” the families.

Crap timing and that’s not the message they need emphasized at the moment when they don’t know if their kid is safe or not.

    Bad optics.

    Yes bad optics.

    The old saying.....

A good deal can go bad....but a bad deal never goes good.

This is a bad deal and you cant fix that, you just deal with it.

A kid interviewed this morning said a student, not the gunman, pulled the alarm when he saw the person holding a gun. New reports my wife is watching says a teacher pulled the fire alarm.
    I understand this.

Just got me to thinking, I wonder if it's really a good idea.

Instead of staying in the classrooms and barricading the doors, you have hundreds of kids in a killing zone.

Im wondering about this too. All this time since Parkland, schools have been training on how to barricade/hunker in place.

What the hell happened to all that???

If you see something pull the fire alarm??? Where did that come from???

I don't get it. We had guns in our trucks as high school kids. Never did one enter the building, and you never had crap like this. What is wrong with these kids these days? Serious question.

Internet has replaced reality for alot of kids
    No family life
    No culture
    No toughness
Kids are raised to be weak and when they are made fun of or bullied, they do shit like this.

I mean the list goes on

    Basic incongruity here.

All are taught (in priority order):
    1) Run
    2) Hide
    3) Fight

School Administrators say, “the School is in lockdown”.

Fire alarms are activated which means to un-ass the school building immediately. (Who knows.... it could be a fire).

Teachers tell students to get in the classrooms so doors can be locked.

Bad guy pulls fire alarm to create a target rich environment (Parkland).

Good guy pulls fire alarm so kids in other parts of the building know to escape. (Santa Fe where the Art room was separated from the rest of the main school building).

    Confusion reigns!

ETA: body count is now ten according to CBS News (up from eight).

Fire alarm pull or lack thereof thoughts: What’s good for the herd might not be good for a few individuals (i.e. those closest to the shooter.)

What’s wrong with the kids thought: the illusion that the shooter has that they experience a seemingly worthless life that even they think is justified in them throwing it away? (Nothing worthwhile to lose).

Society also plays a roll, when you are called a racist because of the color of your skin, a chauvinist when you try to show respect, a killer when you try to exhibit your rights, privileged if your ancestors weren't slaves and so on.

Yep, the theory is "SOUND THE ALARM!!!"

.....but in practice in the field it just doesnt work out.
It did for some and not for others. Sad to say. Who knows what would have happened the other way after the moment to where someone is I. Real time and thinks pull or not pull?
