Applicants seeking gun permits, business loans, passports, and home loans: The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives will likely not process applications for gun permits
14. How will this affect me?
In ways big and small. The mail will continue to come. The military will continue to fight. And Social Security checks will continue to be paid.
But if you need a federal loan to buy a house, you'll have to wait. If you want a gun permit or a passport, that won't happen anytime soon.
Mr. Duncan, We checked with Spring Guns and Ammo and they tell us the FBI background checks continue without a hitch this morning, so gun sales continue without a problem. As far as permits are concerned, Texas does not issue permits for guns. You can apply for CHL to carry a gun… with the “red tape” backlog that normally takes 3-6 months to complete. I looked through our newscast and could find no instance where we said gun permits would be affected. If you saw one, please let me know which show and what time. Thanks for watching KHOU 11 NEWS. J.
