I just spoke with the school and my son will not be required to wear a mask because he is under ten years old. That is also what the executive order that Abbott signed reads. Kids who’s parents chose to have their kids wear masks will be separated from the non mask wearers. Talk about creating division...

OK,lets compare covid to black plague, spanish flu, potato famine and ebola. (Note: the WORLD was in a depresssion/famine when these occured). The first 3 nobody had a clue to what as happening, took years to figure out what and how and millions died. I was in Plano hosp. for a week when ebola hit US (presby). US totally unprepared for the undiagnosed ebola case here. Med workers were attempting to bail (per the nursed in Plano hosp), applying for other jobs and denied (like rats leaving a sinking ship? - no, not being mean - they were rightfully scared). We knew of ebola, Africa was decimated by it. Isolation (and PPE) contained the spread. Africa solution? Containment/isolation and let the sick die! Same for black plague, spanish flu. For covid, WHO lied (and EU) so containment was delayed. We still had no clue to any treatment. Basically blindsided and Trump tried to contain but no real support from anybody! Still no 'magic pill' for cure! So like an oil spill, containment is the first solution til a medical solution is found, if possible. ~50% of US deaths are in 'confinement' homes due primarily to the 'rotating' help crew.
As for school opening, pretty much the same, kids won't suffer much but the teachers and their families may. Don't blame them for being scared but they signed up for it. Don't want to? quit and find other work! Just the facts ma'am. Life ain't easy.
