    It's all BS.
It truly is BS. I don't believe their "numbers" one whit. Early on, they said there would be 2 million deaths in the US. We have not yet hit one tenth of that figure, but they are trying desperately to keep this thing scary. Gotta tank that economy before the election, after all.
I am thinking that maybe, instead of a sign language interpreter, the Mayor Ron and Judge Nelson Daily Show should have a translator.

Ron: One death, a male in the range of 50 to 59 years...
    Translator: 67-year-old man.

Judge: We need to keep wearing our masks to protect others.
Translator: I am worthless and trying to find a purpose for my life.

Some of the other things the district is doing:

    • Students and staff will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms upon arrival at campuses.
    • Measures will be implemented for students to maintain 6 feet between each other to support social distancing.
    • Staff and students (ages 6 and older) will be required to wear facial covering

    Good luck with that....

I mean, hasn't there been an increase in testing?
Logically it would lead to an increase in cases....
It's not so much that there are more tests that they have been doing it longer. The longer they run them, the more show up. Back logs in results or tests performed may get reported on the same day so it looks like a spike when it isn't.
IIRC, Bell County has over 250,000 people. And only 5 deaths. Most of those from nursing homes.

Saw on Fox news this morning that Texas testing is up 36% and Texas covid cases are up 38%. Does anyone have a link to a website showing a 36% increase in testing here in TX?
That begs the question "Up from what?" I found one website that shows the total number of tests day by day. As of June 9, there had been 1,302,049 total tests administered statewide. That equates to about a 35.4% increase in the number of tests if you go back to May 27, when 961,861 total tests had been administered.

Here is the link, but you have to dig to find it and it's in Excel format.

^ concur on both statements. An engineer buddy posted this elsewhere in response to a similar posting as above.

“All models are wrong, some are useful” - George Box.

Box further wrote, "So since all models are wrong, it is very important to know what to worry about; or, to put it in another way, what models are likely to produce procedures that work in practice (where exact assumptions are never true)."

I think that's the part that was largely missed. Those who decided what to put into practice were not those who understood the models and their limitations.

I didn't watch but just checked the updated article and it looks like it was pretty much just a status update. Plenty of hospital beds still but cases are rising.
