I'm trying to figure the motivation here. I see three scenarios:

1. He was SWATted by someone who knows him and wants to hurt him but didn't realize he was out of town,
2. He was SWATted by someone who doesn't know him and wants to hurt him but is too stupid to do a quick google search and see that he wasn't home, or
3. He was SWATted by someone who thinks that a no-risk-to-him SWATting of his home during his absence will garner for him some sympathy and re-insert his name into the current news cycle.

They're all detestable scenarios but I wonder which of the three is most likely. I have my totally unfounded suspicions.

Now, where's my tinfoil hat?

Surprising that a FBI agent lets his home address out while he's using his son as a public figure tool. You'd figure there would better planning. Every douche celebrity in Hollywood has security that quasi prevents problems. Where was their mind the first day this kid was paraded before the whole country? Nobody thought that a private, undisclosed home address would be a good idea? Is the FBI that stupid?

Unless it's door #3.
