Good point though. I havent shot it with my carry gun yet. That will take some reloading.Do you have enough mags and capacity to do the entire drill without reloading mags? Or do you drill the whole thing all at once?

10-4, that's what I was getting at. Just cant stand knowing it's gonna be bad from the get go. But like I said, it will damn sure be a good motivator for me....Nothing to be afraid of.
Even a fail can teach you something.

Yuuup, they don't call it dot Torture for shits and giggles ;-) I'm glad I did it though, looking forward to improving it10-4, that's what I was getting at. Just cant stand knowing it's gonna be bad from the get go. But like I said, it will damn sure be a good motivator for me....
Thats pretty good Jon! Wonder how we can curve the scores based on temp!?
These are my results from 5 yards. In my defense it was freaking cold!

Not sure about that LOL. I'll be doing it from 3 yards instead of 5 yards until I shoot it clean. Does Airsoft count?Thats pretty good Jon! Wonder how we can curve the scores based on temp!?

I shot my first round of Dot Torture yesterday, 3 yards. I don't have a pic yet but I scored a 43. I discovered some surprising things...which is good. I tried hard to tell myself not to rush it...just take my time but I'll be darned if I did not find myself falling into the mental stress of competition mode and squeezing off rounds faster than I should. I can see why they call it torture...but I LIKE it!!
What will you do when you go 50/50 at 5-7 yrds consistently? Go up in caliber? Go more compact? Etc etc?Good to hear. It is very telling to say the least. I've been trying to practice dry firing on my little IDPA range in the garage and fire at the dot torture drill some.
Hoping to get the 50/50 soon.

Good question.
I've yet to shoot it with my carry gun. I'll try that soon.
The idea is to either shoot it more quickly at the current 3 yards or step back to 5 yards then 7. Not sure if I'll go for time or farther distance.
I feel like I need to work on accuracy still then speed.
Real nice shooting there.
I'm calling it clean. Support hand only dot the line was broken so yeah, it's 50/50. Next goal will be 3 yards & three minutes.
Btw, this was done at the Shady Oaks Indoor Range in Cedar Park TX.
