One of the prerequisites of an item to be a commodity is that it in finite supply...I think you are missing the point. I will gladly pay for a service that I can't or won't perform myself. When there is a limited amount of a commodity and a person intentionally buys all available supplies of said commodity in order to prevent me from buying my own and then tries to tell me that his mark up is for the "service" he performed by standing in line to buy out all available supplies of said commodity, I call BS and pronounce him a POS.
They went for 1.50 at the Fredericksburg gun show.Get yer red hot green tip 5.56mm here.

It's not like this is insider trading. You have the same opportunity to buy those supplies as anyone else does. What ticks me off is the store employees that buy it before anyone else can. Kind of like the people who sneak into the front of the line at an amusement park.I think you are missing the point. I will gladly pay for a service that I can't or won't perform myself. So, correct my terrible logic...
What if you are in the business of road side assistance? Is it suddenly slimy to charge people for your work?
When I worked at a bicycle shop in college, we had people buy handle bar tape then see we charged $20 to install. They would often ask if "how hard is it to install " me standard answer was "Its pretty easy for me, but a lot of people think its worth $20 to not do it".
Was that somehow slimy? I could wrap bars in about 10min because I was good at so it came out to $120/h because I had something they didn't, ablity and knowledge.
I was only making $5.25 was that slimy of my boss? I wanted more money so went to a new place that almost doubled my pay, but that's capitalism.
Calling people names for using their ability to make money fairly and honestly isn't wrong or slimy and its socialist to name call for that.
ANYONE can go stand in line if they choose to, just because they would rather pay Glenn to do their work for them doesn't make Glenn or anyone else a bad guy.

I’m not in the roadside repair business, just like GlennB isn’t in the ammo sales business. The bike shop was in the bike sales and repair business, so not even close to the same circumstances.
I’ve noticed something about you. You throw around the word socialist a lot.
When leftists are losing an argument, they scream “racist” as a trump card to win the argument. You seem to do the same thing with “socialist”. Give it a break. It just shows you are losing the argument.
Let me start with, I'm new here and still trying to git a handle on this social media thing, it's perplexing to say the least. Also, I have no dog in this fight because I am well stocked with the items that I know or think I will need. But after reading this thread I am courious as to where you would stand on a person selling a bottle of water or bag of ice for $20 the day after a hurricane hits the coast? Not looking for a fight, just opinions.
The neckbearding urks me a bit but not enough to personally attack my fellow Texans.
When I was younger I would call a friend for help if I broke down on the side of the road. Nowadays I'd rather call a tow truck and pay their fee than inconvenience my friends. There's just something about compensating people for their efforts.I’m not in the roadside repair business...
I have ridden out countless hurricanes and tropical storms in Galveston. Where do I stand on price gouging an essential substance like water? I have probably given away several cases of beer to neighbors and stragglers that didn't have the foresight to buy beer or ice before the causeway got closed. I never once thought to line my pockets by their shortsightedness regarding beer. I could never forgive myself if I took advantage of that circumstance just to line my pockets with gold.Let me start with, I'm new here and still trying to git a handle on this social media thing, it's perplexing to say the least. So me buying three boxes of certain brands of ammo at a time (the Academy Sports limit in Texarkana FOR 223, 9MM, 7.62 Russian {as they call it meaning 7.62x39 as far as I can figure} & one other caliber I think 45 if I remember right) is what you evidently seem to be saying is:I think you are missing the point.
