45-70 is boss but capacity is low. If you have multiple assailants you will have to ask them to line up so you can get a through and through and through and...I digress.

As for 40 cal vs others, I chose 9mm a long time ago for ammo capacity and compact size of pistols.

A lot of "downloaded" ammo is available, but mid/full power is available as well...Gets you about .40 equivalent on the low-end to approaching .357 mag energy on the high-end.

Also, can most definately be a bit more challenging for small hands.
I am wondering what type of loading the FBI used then for 10mm. Thanks for sharing

If I had to guess, I presume it was what I consider full power 10mm now, that most off the shelf now aren't.
Probably a 180gr pill moving around 1,250 would be my guess for the standard 10mm load. I am an Underwood supporter, but that new Sig Sauer ammo is much cheaper and on the shelves at Academy. In my short experience with it it seems to be more of real 10mm load compared to others. I would recommend to anyone who isnt hand loading for 10mm to pick up a box.

Also I am guessing if someone is a cheap bastard(aka me) they shouldnt bother getting into 10mm if they only ever plan on buying off the shelf loads?

    Yes, that & Buffalo Bore.
Probably something else I am forgetting.

You are correct about the Sig Sauer, that is why in post #34 I mentioned there is an exception or two.
