Agree its a fine mess. From what I understand though...the Border Patrol is totally swamped with paperwork and rounding up and tending to this who do turn themselves in. So this leaves the cartels and criminals to stroll in.

So the guard will be bogged down catching the same illegal migrants. I doubt they'll catch any smugglers. If the cartels happen to open fire on them (like they have border patrol before) the guard isn't going to be allowed to chase them down and catch/kill them. It's just more of the same crap.

I understand and agree. Perhaps they'll have the guard hauling fuel food and water to the BP border operations. Something to free up the guys on the frontline...

Here in Texas that term doesn't really mean anything. There are so many illegals that to have local officers trying to catch them is absurd not to mention screw with their job in any number of different ways. If someone is arrested for more than a class C they go to Harris County Jail. Everyone who goes thru the system gets checked and if you are illegal you get handed over to CBP. I would bet this is the same for most if not all of the larger county jail systems. Asking for much more than that without the ability to effect how the system operates is petty unreasonable.

There's an easy way to ruin illegal immigration that will piss them off good. Since this problem has gone out of hand make it illegal to send money to Mexico and Latin America through banks or money orders from the US without a social security card and American ID/legal US document (work visa). most of the money the illegals make gets sent home. Cut this out and you kill a big part of Latin Americas economy and make it unjustifiable for illegals to come over.

Turn the banks and money order companies against them and they'll have to immigrate legally and end this problem.

The only bad about it is that it involves private business. In a time of crisis you have to make a tough call.

Those "tough calls" in times if crisis have been made many times with unforeseen outcomes that could easily have been predicted.
