Today, Shirley was moved out of ICU to Intermediate Care. I had selected a rehab place from the list they gave me. Turns out it was the wrong list. Doctor came in and said she needs acute rehab and the other list is just skilled nursing rehab. I asked him which one he would take his mother or wife to, He gave me two names and I chose one of those. It is actually about a mile from my house. They still haven't said when she will go to rehab but I think it will be maybe over the weekend.

Talked to Crazy, one of Shirley's 2 oldest friends. They've been friends since the unicorn barbecue on the Ark. Crazy is bi-polar and when she gets off her meds the first thing that she thinks of is ROOOOOAD. TRIIIIP. That usually brings her to us. I hope she stays medicated.

Today they announced that Shirley will be moving to a rehab place tomorrow. I fear getting her to cooperate and follow instructions will be like stacking bowling balls while herding cats and dancing to Axxe's harmonica. I have no idea why cats would dance to Axxe's tune but it should be interesting.

LOL - you could sell tickets to that!!
Good luck tomorrow; hope all goes well. :)

Took my wife to the hospital (well the ambulance did), She is handicapped from a car wreck in 1996. Lately she has been extra lethargic and falling down a lot. Took her to PC and he did blood tests which were ok. Yesterday, when. I got up at 6am she was on the floor in the hallway. Spent the night there. Got her up and sent her to bed (she sleeps in a chair). She gets up around 2:30 goes to the kitchen. About 3, I find her on the floor. She usually gets herself up by using the stairs to the sunken living room. Anyway after up and down several times, I called 911.

ER did a CAT scan and she has bleeding on the brain. Apparently she has had previous undiagnosed episodes. As I type this, she is in the OR having her skull opened to relieve the pressure which had pushed he brain 12mm to the right. That's almost a half inch.

The problem with not getting her to the ER sooner is that the symptoms I saw were not that much different from her regular problems. She was't slurring her speach, just weak. Her balance wasn't that different either.

    Please send prayers,

    Thank You in advance.

Ps. I'm off to the hospital so I can be there when she wakes up.
You and your wife are in our prayers, May god give you the strength to provide all the help she needs.

Brother, I just saw this.....prayers for BOTH of you! Hardest thing is watching our wives suffer. Mine is having problems coming back from her stroke last year. At this point, I don't know what the final outcome will be.

Prayers for your wife in her recovery and for you through this time.
