Any one know anything about this sign? Kind of looks like a BS but with so much legislation going through lately I may have missed something. It was on a Texas Target retail store.

Yea, it made me think of the sign saying it's illegal for unlawful persons to unlawfully possess illegal... BS, BS, ad infinitum...

    It's improperly worded, then, IMO.

Well there does seem to be a lot of that. Luckily, most of the improper ones are related to 30.06/30.07.

Then again, maybe this one is unlucky (for the store). I guess this "gun sign blue" sign could actually get them in trouble with TABC.

I've seen those signs more often than the 30.06 and 30.07 signs recently. That may be because of the places I've been going. Typically if I'm not drinking I just don't concern myself with them

If you are suggesting that there is a law prohibiting long gun carry on licensed premises, then you are incorrect. We had a thread about this recently.

To me it looks like a homemade and improper felony notice blue sign.
The TABC licensee is not permitted to allow long guns. The offense is not against the customer, but against the TABC licensee.
    I see the signs often

    Not really

You should see the other TABC signs whenever that one is posted. It really refers to the fact that long guns cannot be permitted into the facility.
If they wanted to ban long guns a no firearms sign would do. This sign is not a legal sign. I believe the TABC signs ban handguns and not long guns. Correct me if I am wrong.

The TABC website posts the following. Note that they call it a handgun sign.

In general, retailers such as convenience stores and grocery stores, along with authorized upper tier members, should post the following signs:
    • Handgun Warning Sign (Blue Sign)
    • Forced Labor (aka Human Trafficking) Sign
    • (No Consumption) On Premises Warning Sign
    • Public Information and Complaint Sign
In general, retailers such as bars and restaurants, along with authorized upper tier members, should post the following signs:

    • Handgun Warning Sign (Red or Blue Sign depending on certain criteria)
    • Health Risks Warning Sign
    • Forced Labor (aka Human Trafficking) Sign
    • Public Information and Complaint Sign

Since we're guessing, I guess that they're ok with licensed, concealed handguns - but don't want to hassle with videoed trespass warning of long gun carrying idiots like CJ Grisham.

My local liquor store posts this sign along with the TABC Blue sign. It is pretty meaningless to an LTC, I'm not sure what purpose it serves. And I have open carried in this store without any comments from the staff.
