It wasn't the people or the Russian culture it was the communist
socialist party and it leaders we had a problem with. Its just a shame the
your average Russian got stuck in that restrictive life of no freedoms.
Hope you can get here soon as we are pulling for you.

This is definitely true. I don't think in general that we ever hated the Russian people - just the government. Regrettably, we seem to be headed down the same road here, though. As Solzhenitsyn told the students at Harvard a number of years ago - in general, our society has forgotten God and is turned to Statism.

The one thing I find is that there is a big difference between what a country's government does and the way it treats other countries compared to the way it's citizens feel about other countries. Many times citizens in other countries think that Americans are ignorant, arrogant, mean people that just want to tell the rest of the world what to do. Most Americans are not like that. That is just how our government has become. Unfortunately I think many governments (including ours) give citizens around the world a bad impression of it's citizens. I wish more people from other countries could see the citizens in our country instead of seeing just our government. The average daily life of a citizen in our country is maybe different from what some people around the world might think. I wish more people in other countries could see how many citizens here will go out of their way to help someone out if they are hurt. Our country isn't perfect but, we try to be the best people we can be.

Population of Krasnoyarsk approx 1 000 000 citizens. Krasnoyarsk is the cleanest city in Russia and it have the cleanest water. But ecology is not well. If you interest, you can see this Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric dam - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The largest city in Siberia is Novosibirsk. Population about 1 800 000 citizens. It's 3rd size city in Russia.

PS: I knew that americans think about Siberia as huge forest with bears and there is no internet :))) We have even McDonald's and Bently cars ;)
