Almost the same thing happened to me in Starr County. I was going 70 in a 65. Apparently, all Highways are 65 in Starr County. Anyway, after I handed over my DL and LTC, I said, "by the way, I am armed". The DPS officer asked, "without reaching, where is it?" I replied, "one on my hip, one in my pocket, one in the glovebox, and one in my bag on the back seat." He laugh and asked if I was a lawyer. I said, "no, I am a surveyor." He smiled then said, "well that figures".I got stopped about 2 weeks ago, and after handing over my DL, LTC, and retired Military ID he asked if there were any weapons in the vehicle. After I listed everything I had on me or in the vehicle at the time he laughed and asked if I always travelled that way.
After some small talk, he let me off with a warning.
