Spread this around ... I want to get a good number of names listed here and email it out to several people, like the TSRA, NRA, GOA, and deliver it locally to politicians that are pro-2A.

I think Alan means to post links to this thread - other organizations are proclaiming that they "have no input from their members that they're interested in open carry."

It's not that they don't want it, it's that they're afraid that their targeted legislation (capus carray, and employee parking lot storage) will be jeopardized if yet more legistlation is introduced.

I heard that campus carry passed in the senate last week, and that it was expected to pass in the house.

I also heard that Lavendar was going to file an open-carry bill, but he's running out of time to do so (deadline for filing is 01 March). As it is now, it might already be too late...

I agree, further, I don't want to have to register to exercise my Constitutional rights, do you?
The constitution does not give you rights. You are endowed by your Creator with unalienable Rights. The Constitution explicitly prohibits the government from infringing on your some of you most important rights

I support Open Carry and Consealed Carry.

I have my CHL and the more I think about open carry and the problems concerning concealment, I support open carry with some kind of training. I tend not to carry due to the problems of concealment, but, I do carry when I am in the areas of a greater possibility of potential need. I have fired a firearm (warning shot 40+ years ago) when I felt intense fear for my life and the company that I was with and I am pretty sure that is one reason I am able to post here now. With open carry the emotional rage confrontation would tend to come unglued with open carry. Right now, if someone were to be showing gun, the proper response would be full stage alert. If I were a criminal under open carry rules, I would be less likely to enter into a crime with the more likelihood of being confronted by armed response.

Yeah, link it on other Texas boards or places where you'll find Texas members, so long as it is within the rules to do so.
