Well, the original OP options were, I think, 100, 200, and 500 yards. Inside 50 yards, AK all day. But we're talking, minimum, twice that distance so you probably want to upgrade to an AR platform. Before anyone gets SVS about that, I'm freaking kidding. Robski has proven it time and time again.

I have no clue how well I would shoot under pressure at any distance That is only because I cannot predict how well or not well I would handle pressure during any future life threatening event. If I were to make a guess, I would say I'd hadle that type of pressure fairly well and would shoot okay out to 200 yards. I have never shot at longer distances.

Had a chance to shoot at 400 yards at a blogger shoot in
WBGV but that was ruined by someone complaining to the range about shots hitting their property during our event. Happily they were not my shots as I had not fired yet. The range owners closed down shooting in that direction right in the middle of the shoot; so, the 400 yard range was out.

I’m confident enough to hit a man-sized target at 550 yards with my little poverty pony AR. The challenge with an urban environment is the lack of unobstructed space that spans a little over a quarter mile.

That’s why overwatch is so crucial in an urban environment.

Handgun I'm terrible. I can pass a test but my gift is with a rifle. Iron sights and red dots, I can do good things at extended ranges. But it wasn't the current gun culture that got me like that. When I was younger I did so much varmint shooting. So so much. and with guns that varmint hunters don't normally use...Mini14's, mausers, ak-74's, m-14's so on.

I will say, and not to sound like an ass, just trying to help, is doing more drills where a buddy loads your gun and you don't know what's a live round or spent one. You will catch your self making bad shots and it's a good way to correct things. We used to do this for popping critters. Now I can just tell I pulled one as the round goes off; aint even worth looking at that one on paper.

Your poll is missing a belt-fed option ...
Not any more :) Go big or go home.

The what rifle I’d use question is easy since all I have is a Mini 14. I have made hits on man size targets at 100yards. I need to try 200.
