I went to the 100 yd range once with my AR. It wuz scary.

I shoot my pistol at the 500 yard all the time. One day I even hit the dirt near the target.

    Shooter's Station, got it.
With a well-deserved nod to the Eley folks (their wonderful tunnel is only 50M and set up for rimfire, only), Gene Beggs' tunnel outside Odessa is still the king of indoor testing facilities in this state, IMO. He knows more about indoor testing of benchrest rifles at 100 yards than just about anybody. 5-shot groups with center-to-center spreads under 0.10" come out of there with regularity. The facility and his expertise are available by appointment only...but if you're the type of person who could use his expertise, you already know all that. :)

Seems easy enough to set up on your own property.
Not really. Temperature differentials between inside and outside can make an improperly designed shooting tunnel unusable due to mirage. Air flow can be tricky, too. It's actually a little complex and a lot expensive to build a usable 100-yard indoor range. There are failed attempts (usually built out of long tubes of discarded tires) littering the back 40 of many shooting enthusiasts who thought "That doesn't look so hard!".

Here's how my range time typically goes-
    roll out tactical shooting blanket
pull out the 338 or 300win mag
load up behind it in the proper prone position and make the bipod dig into the south Texas soil
check for wind movement, temperature, global warming and the coming of the robot apocalypse
load the chamber and take a 25 yard shot that lands somewhere on the paper
feel like a bad ass ninja warrior
load it up and go home
