My favorite Rifle Steyr SSG PII with my namesake.
Updated photos of the rifles:
This is what I did with a surplus Mosin Nagant. I get a 4 in. group at 100 yards, with hand loaded 165 gr. nosler balistic tips.
That's awesome. Can you tell me all that was involved, where you got the stock, did you do the work yourself, etc? I have a couple M44s, and would like to sport one out like that.
I got the stock from Numrich Gun Parts (yes it cost more than the rifle), the after market scope mount and bolt handle came from CTD, and I installed an adjustable trigger from Brownells.
I did all the work myself. Cut down the barrel to 22 inches and removed the rear sight. I used a drill press to attach the scope mount, and made sure that it never moves after screwing it on, with a little JB weld. Same with the bolt handle. A little JBW to make sure it never loosens up. I painted it with a flat black from Brownells, but I was worried about scratch and chips so I used automotive clear coat to seal it.
My newest toy.
I had a Ruger 10/22 (didnt I 300shooter) but Mom shot it once & took it home that day. She lets me shoot it when she goes. I think she would let me borrow it if I asked.
My 2 are kinda "Plain Jane" compared to all the above. I dont have a black one, just a Brown one. M1A, Call him Badger.
I hunt w/ it out to 200yds.
Past 200yds I request Big Sam to come along. Big Sam Tikka from Finland.
300 WSM Nikon Monarch on top.
New aquisition, a Cimarron 1873 18.5" Texas Brush Popper in 357mag.
