Or were, at the time of issue. An LTC doesn't tell you anything about the person after that last check. 2 years is plenty of time for someone to go from good guy to criminal.

Nifty. I like that no PII is captured or retained, just a simple valid/not valid response. I’d expect a seller to disclose they’re going to ask for LTC number and expiration date for verification purposes though. I’d read it off to them, but no pics or handing an LTC over.

Technically, you can sell it to the French, just know that it won't be used properly (Foreign Legion being the only exception).

Not sure what that has to do with which pistol calibers do not have a corresponding rifle, but ok, thanks for your input.
My point was, it seems silly to not sell to a juvenile ammunition that is suitable for use only in a handgun.
Seems like the requirement was meant to styme sales of 9mm by a politician that did not realize there are tons of 9mm rifles.

I believe there are only two things you have to check.

There is no legal requirement for a non-FFL to check anything, at state federal level. There are a handful of folks you can not knowingly sell to. So if you have no reason to suspect, it is best not to ask.

Offhand? 9mm Makarov, .45GAP, .357Sig, .30SuperCarry, .25ACP, .32ACP...and I can't think of much else that nobody ever bothered to come up with a reason to shoot through a rifle.
