It comes loose after some shots if not secured with loctite or teflon, plus it sat high on the rail so mid-range shots are off. Had to replace it with a reflex.
Thank ya. That one is finally done. It may become a safe queen. My next project is a Stevens 320. Kinda hard to find good parts for, but that'll just make it that much more unique when I'm done with it.
Tsk, all these pretty shotguns and few action pics. Ok, let's change that up a bit - here's me shooting the tail-feathers off a bird on Sta 2, Skeet recently:
Charles Daly 26" 12-ga O/U (made by Miroku, Japan) - originally Imp Cyl/Mod, I had it modded by Briley for screw-in chokes and the stock-comb bent out slightly (to fit my face) by Andrew MacFarlane of admgun.com
It's not stock. The shottie was a bone stock express 870 when I got it. I've actually not fired it yet, been a cold winter and unfortunately still live in 'city limits' so I can't very well go out back and blast a few shells without a neigbhor getting mad.
Since it's thawing out here, I took next week off work and will hit up the range so I'll let you know what I think about the heatshield and Magpul stuff. General consensus is the Magpul stuff is good. The grip on the forend is much better now and I like that I can adjust the length of buttstock make the shotgun feel better to me. The stock comes with 4 riser pads so you can really make the pull real long if you wanted to or keep it short.
