medium rare, A1 if i'm cooking in a pan at home. Sauceless if cooked over some charcoal.

Define cold....

Cold = just out of the fridge.....steak isn't right, should start at room temp.

Cold = room temp....if it was seared properly it shouldn't be....cooked wrong.

Cold = little over room temp, possibly....

Cold = red, runny, not chewy, fat rendered and close to medium rare temp (over 140) .....perfect!!

I rarely eat steaks. But when I do, I like them medium rare. The wife won't eat meat unless it is well burnt. Sausage, steak, spam, pork chops...the more black crust the better.
