So, I did some researching and found some interesting facts about Groom's cakes.
It's a Victorian Era tradition where the wedding cake was usually white while the groom's cake was chocolate with strawberries or even liqueur.
Legend says that that cake was usually sliced up, boxed and given to the unmarried women. If they slept with it next to their pillows it was said to cause them to dream of their future husband.
You men actually bring us good luck!!

Well......I originally was thinking chicken, salmon and what not, but then Tejano Scott told me how expensive that'd be. More and more I think it'd be (not only inexpensive) but more like our meets to do a bbq. This is what I aim for anyway.
So.......bbq the way we do it at our shootouts would be perfect
My only problem is I don't wish to appear needy or cause others distress.

As a wedding photographer and planner in my youth, I once managed to throw together a wedding in 3 weeks. It sure is nice to see someone planning a full 17 months in advance.
