    Because the logo resembles a hat, and the German word for hat is "hut" (pronounced hoot), Germans pronounce it "Pizza Hoot", pretending "pizza hat" makes sense.
    I'll vouch for that. I actually had a young lady in Germany ask me why it was named Pizza Hat. She said it didn't make sense, no one wears a pizza on their head. I told her I did once. When I brought home one with anchovies on it. Wife was upset about the anchovies. Then I explained to her that, in America, a hut is not a hat, but rather, a very small building or shack.
