07/24/10 - Took CHL Class (Saturday)
07/25/10 - Qualified at the Range (Sunday)
07/26/10 - Sent full application to DPS
07/27/10 - DPS received Application
07/29/10 - Showed up in system - Pending Fingerprints & Background Check
08/07/10 - Fingerprints cleared
8/13/10 - Background check cleared!!! (YAY) - Pending manufacturing
8/17/10 - Mailed - Damnit, my CB Super Tuck won't be here till next week!!!

My background check hit a snag. 25 years ago I was arrested on a misdemeanor that I failed/forgot to mention on my application. The clerk at Texas CHL/DPS says that it will merely add 30 days to the process. What say you?

Btw, the misdemeanor involved no violence, threats, or any other factor that should cause alarm. It involved youth and stupidity, mostly. :-)

I have been arrested for all kinds of crap but all of its suspose t obe exspunged and no record. I guess its wish to look it all up and make sure.

upgraded now to plastic in hand, just under 60 days...and thats including a snafu on pictures

My app was delivered certified mail August 8, my prints and photos were rejected, I re-sent photos and had L1 do my prints, my status changed on 9/1 to manufacturing/pending. This process has gone very quickly especially with having to resend prints and photos... I must say the electronic prints took less than a week from the day I had them done to them being accepted. I know, ten bucks is ten bucks, but they got the job done super quick.

Mine has been "mailed." Do they always come certified mail, requiring a signature? Also, how long after your status said "mailed" before you received yours?

Turned in application package on 02 NOV, recieved CHL on 24 NOV. Initial license, not renewal.

Funny thing is, the website still says that background check and CHL printing is currently pending...5 days after it has been delivered in the mail.

DPS needs to maintain the website just a little better.

Sent in my stuff on november 7. Shows up December 5 and the website was still showing "awaiting receipt of materials". Was starting to freak out wondering who had my photos, prints, and personal info.
