I don't know why all this talk about China is happening in the Ukraine thread. Seems like a subject that's big enough for its own thread.

Do we already have one or should I start one?

Taiwan has been preparing for an invasion by the CCP from the mainland for over 40 years. It hasn't happened yet. With the invasion of Ukraine and rising tensions between the USA and the CCP, the question of a possible invasion of the island keeps popping up. What are your thoughts?

While its still a tough situation, the Ukrainian position around Bakhmut has been improving and ВСУ has been gained several Km along the highway SW of Bakhmut. By any amount russia and Wagner has thrown EVERYTHING they could to capture Bakhmut, but they are being pushed back yet again.

Been hearing this through friends and friends of friends from around there too.

While its still a tough situation, the Ukrainian position around Bakhmut has been improving and ВСУ has been gained several Km along the highway SW of Bakhmut. By any amount russia and Wagner has thrown EVERYTHING they could to capture Bakhmut, but they are being pushed back yet again.

There (to my knowledge) is still just the one highway in/out of Bakhmut, but these advances have the potential to open up an additional route.

I do believe you're correct in parts of the Bakhmut front where russia is making very small, slow and costly advances. I can't find the map but russia has been creeping meter by meter on the eastern side, but Ukraine made a 3 or 4km advance on the SW the other day.

These type of advances are only possible with the APCs and IFVs they have been supplied from the west. There are a push a few cities north of Bakhmut that was successful thanks to a bunch of German Marders.

Either way, not getting much in return for all the cannon fodder they have offered up.

if you have 1 million men you h ave about 50 to 70 thousand combat capable troops and the rest are support. Of course knowing the russians its the other way around.

Naftali Bennet did an interview recently where he discussed the ukraine/Russia negotiations from his perspective as the mediator. The interview contradicts the desired narrative, so I don’t think it’s a coincidence that it wasn’t shared by American media that wants people to be good little sheep and support the current thing.
