US had developed a nuke antisub torpedo delivered by a sub launched rocket. Not sure if it ever deployed.

Russian outlet РБК (RBK), citing sources within the Russian regime, reported on October 3 that Lieutenant-General Roman Berdnikov has replaced Colonel-General Alexander Zhuravlev as commander of the Western Military District (WMD).

Zhuravlev has not been seen for some time, and Putin cycled through two commanders of the “western grouping of forces" in two weeks. Putin may be attempting to redirect the growing anger for Russian losses in Kharkiv Oblast and Lyman by assigning a new face prominently to the WMD.

    Yeah. That's the question alright.

But the situation might get even more complicated in ways I hadn't thought of before I watched this.

Watched this guy before. I think he is on point with why nukes provide no advantage other than as a bluff for russia.

For those of you who object to US military aid to the Ukraine:

For context, the 2022 Defense Dept Budget is $752.9 Billion. $16.8 Billion is 2.2% of the annual defense budget.

Let's look at just some of what we got for that 2.2% of the annual defense budget.

    1) Save a fledgling democracy, giving us a chance to stick up for our principles. This has united most Americans across the aisle, at a time when that has become incredibly rare.

    2) Restores credibility of US intel agencies that had suffered badly since 2003.

    3) Shows why NATO is critical. Until Russia invaded, the necessity of NATO was openly questioned publicly and frequently. Open Russian aggression reveals that NATO is absolutely critical to US and European stability.

    4) Strengthens NATO. NATO gains Sweden and Finland and soon will be able to add Ukraine. That gives NATO 2 new bordering countries with Russia plus the ability to hinder the Russian Black Sea Fleet and completely bottle up the Russian Baltic Sea Fleet in port.

    4) Destroys the bulk of the professional Russian army, along with their equipment. Also destroys the ability for Russia to replenish and rebuild that equipment, rendering Russia impotent for at least the next decade or so.

    5) Shows that US equipment is utterly dominant versus Russian tech, which almost certainly also applies to Chinese tech. You want shit that works and works well? Buy USA.

    6) Makes it much less likely China tries to take Taiwan by force. Even not even considering military aspects, their economy would be destroyed instantly by sanctions.

All that for 2.2% of the annual defense budget, $16.8 Billion. That's one of the best returns on investment in history.

Anyone criticizing the US sending aid to Ukraine does not have US strategic interests in mind.

Publicly moving your tac nuke units around and your decrepit nuke bombers to nuke holding bases.

    Tempting targets.

No doubt at all those units and vehicles are being closely monitored and tracked...just in case.
One attack sub could destroy all those with some T-lams and be gone before they crossed the coast.

Definitely the act of the insane or a bluff. Probably both.

And for the rumors of them losing track/contact of/with one of their nuke missiles subs, again stupid bluff because the chances of it not being tracked by the west in this situation are very low. Hes insinuating they have ou orders to hide and fire their nukes if Russia is as attacked.

Trying to play the only card he's got left, since the entire world has watched the Russian military fold like wet cardboard. Considering that their nuclear forces are probably in at least the same shape if not worse, it's a pretty weak card.

I was a kid in the 70s, duck n cover drills in school more than fire drills. Anyways my dad always told me half the Russia nukes wouldnt even launch and blow up in their silos.

Apparently he was on to something.
