No matter how good I sort brass it seems like I still end up with a 9 inside of a 40 inside of a 45. I don't even have a 40!

Interesting. Do you know how it fares for 243 and 7-08?

It is close to 4831 burn rate so it would be ok with 243 but is probably a touch slow in 7mm-08.

I thought 4831 and 4350 we're the bee knees for everything. Between those 2 and varget there's some serious fanboys out there.

I did see load data for 4831 for 7mm-08 but thought it might be a little slow. I settled on 4064 because it was a lighter charge than most others. Velocity was pretty much the same across all powders ±100fos so I figured a lighter charge could be more beneficial as I'd get another few rounds out of each can.

    Is that not good logic?

Depends on how you look at it. If you are worried about maximizing your round count per powder container it's not a bad idea. If I can't get over 90% case fill I will typically not use that powder.

I have started doing what I can to elongate barrel life so I don't have to constantly tweak the load to chase accuracy. If you have access quickload you can get the heat potential of the powder on your choice then you can run it through a excel calculator on 6mmbr.com for projected barrel life.

I have only recently heard about case fill. I guess I'm only recently trying to load for maximum precision though. I have looked at the nosler data and they list case fill. I'll have to go back and look at their 243 data and see what they found for best powder and go from there for that one.

Case fill is really about burn consistency.

Keeps the same amount of powder burning from front to back instead of possibly having the powder sitting at the front or rear of the case.

That’s all 6.5, 9mm, .223, and .22 TCM. Nothing that can fit inside anything else.

Learned my lesson when I got some .40 brass in a 9mm batch.

The first time I tumbled brass I just threw it all in and tumbled away. I was separating cases for hours. Now it's only 1 caliber at a time.

I really need to set up my reloading presses.

I threw a bunch of brass whored 9 and 223 into the pin tumbler after decapping and for the first time ever most of the 223 had a 9 on the end of it.

    PIA.

I’ve always run 9 and 223 together but not anymore.

I also ordered a pistol rotor/insert for the LNL. I never had one; just ran everything through the rifle rotor.

That pistol rotor will really help with consistent powder drops on smaller charges.

I never understood why the AP doesn't come with both rotors.

who the f*** else would come up with a fix for press wear from the primer seater using YOUR own nickel!

Younggun, you beat me to it.

I loaded with the rifle one fro 12 or so years with zero issues!

On my first AP I put my RCBS powder drop on it to get better drops on pistol loads.

At the time I didn't know there was a pistol rotor.
