In April I broke my wrist 5 days later had steel plates put in. I broke it when I fell and passed out and broke my other hand at the same time.

Missed three weeks of work then went back and got fired on July 5th.

July 2nd I passed out again and another trip to the hospital low blood sugar both time I missed my surgery to have a heart recorder put in on the July 3rd and the air conditioning at home went out on July 4th.

July 5th I got fired as I said and in August if the plates came out of my roof my wrist.

VA gave me a 90% disability but I have a claim in trying for a hundred.

To make matters worse I turn 70 this month.
    .
I need to find a job this forced retirement after eight years on the job means I have to spend all day with my wife. That's work.

To top it off I have an infected hangnail which hurts more than the broken wrist.

    How you doing?

Just wait; 75 and all day at home is WORSE !

First handgun was a Ruger Security Six, back in the mid 70s. Got me into shooting handguns and reloading. Still have it. Finally reworked the trigger, the factory DA was about 75 pounds or so. Sure taught you trigger control!

Mine was an S&W Model 19 - kept it for 10 years than sold it. Was heavy into reloading all week and then shooting all weekend. Probably ran 3-4 thousand rounds through that poor gun, S&W had to replace a cylinder because of some of the hot loads I was blowing through it. Miss that gun but hear that the Model 19 is coming back!

My first handgun and revolver was a 4-inch stainless steel Ruger Security-Six in .357 Magnum/.38 Special in 1982. I gave it to one of my brothers back in 1997; he still has it and will probably keep it.
My first pistol was a National Model 1 derringer in .41 Rimfire Short that was given to me to hold as a family heirloom in 1982. It was one of two that belonged to my great-great-great uncle from his riverboat gambler days.

Colt Trooper MKIII .357 4". I bought it in 1975 during the RCC phase of my training at the Royal Military Academy (most of the purchase price was covered by money I had left over from my Officer's Uniform Allowance). Yes back in those days it was possible in UK to obtain a licence to own such a weapon, I filled out a form sent it to the local police authority and about 6 weeks later received my certificate which allowed my to purchase the weapon and ammo. In 1979 I bought my second pistol a multi-caliber HK4:

I kept both weapons until just before I left the Army in 1994. I decided to sell them as it was going to become increasingly difficult to renew my licence trying to keep them at home rather than "on base". My timing was fortuitous as the Dunblane school massacre took place in 1996, which was the event the brought about the UK handgun ban.

My first pistol was a Colt Gold Cup followed by a H&K VP70Z (yep back in the 80's).
Sadly I don't have either of them any more. I wish I still had both.
