    Gunz are icky.
I think you have misinterpreted that to be invoking magic. A more likely explanation is the visitation of that area by extra-terrestrials.

    Naaaa. You're overthinking it.

I've seen a few species that wildlife biologists and game wardens tell me aren't here.
    Jaguarundi.
    Black mountain lion.
The lost elk herd in the Texas panhandle.

Didn't know it had a specific name, so didn't know what to look for. Anyways, I have seen a Jaguarundi several times, most likely the same one. When I first saw it, thought it was just a big feral cat. Then as I continued to watch it, realized this was no common cat. I thought, perhaps a black panther, as those have been seen around there. But the it's body structure was all wrong. It was kinda far off, so didn't get a good look that time. The second time, it was real close, it walked down to the river bank near where I was fishing. 50 yrds or less. Got a good look that time and it was no wild cat I had ever seen. It stood about a foot and a half to the top of it's back. Medium charcoal grey color, long body, shorter legs and smaller head in comparison to it's body. It looked more like a taller, longer version of my house cat. Talked to a game warden and he had no clue, he said it could have been a deformed juvenile panther. While I did contemplate that theory, the color and characteristics had me doubting that. When I saw the word "Jaguarundi" in your post, I googled it and now I know that is what I saw.

I've never seen anything that couldn't be explained, but sometimes odd stuff pops up.

    Like this thing, for instance.

It's deep in the woods near Panther Creek. I think it may have been part of some sort of digging machine. There is LOTS of sand at the creek and somebody may have been doing the whole sand pit thing there at some time.

It's a pretty good ride to get back there. There's nothing even close to a road anywhere near it.

On my father in law's land in Maine - a ten foot cube of solid concrete, just sitting out in the middle of the trees with one end butted up against a hillside so you can step out onto it. There were bits of metal tubing bolted to it that looked like a previous owner had used it as a mount for a satellite dish.

On the land I grew up on, lots and lots of old pots, pans, milk cans...just about anything that could wind up beaten up and rusty in a creek bottom. No telling how far upstream they came from, or how long ago.

    Here
Back in the late 50s my brother found a mortar round in the woods across the road from our house. We don't have a clue as to how it got there. After laying around in our yard for a while it was taken to a National Guard armory and they said that it was live. My cousin and I used to play catch with it and we joked about how it might explode. I am sure glad that it didn't.

Several years ago I was out on my property and its winter time. I see something and cannot figure out what it is, nor can I get at it due to overgrowth. I go get my chainsaw and cut my way to it and its a bath tub. Its so heavy I cannot even lift it. I spend better part of the day clearing around and a path to to to get my John Deere to pick it up. It weighs over 300 lbs, solid cast iron. How it got there I have no idea, it was clearly very expensive, was in excellent shape and had it not weighed so much I would have kept it, but knew I could not get it in the house so loaded it up and took it to the metal yard and .095 cents per lb and got just over $30 bucks for it.

Old cast iron tubs are, to quote someone else, "one of those things that are super expensive when you want one but can't give it away when you want to move on." If it was the right design and you had been in the middle of Brooklyn or Scottsdale or Los Angeles or Aspen or The Hamptons you might have gotten $1K, unrestored, assuming it wasn't rusted through at any point.

You probably did fine getting $30 for it. :)

When I was about 12 I lived near Cedar Hill right where Joe Pool Lake is now. The closest houses were about a mile away and I had 2 friends living there. I used to follow the trail my dog made through the woods to get to their houses. We would wonder around out there all day. We found an old, run-down cemetery. I don't remember the dates on the tombstones but I remember that they were really old. It was pretty small and bordered with a small (2'-3' tall) wrought iron fence.

Prologue: What you are about to read I have had buried in the back of my mind for over 50 years. I have only told a very few people about this over this time. It was a life-changing event, I have kept it a secret due to my career and the security clearances I have held as high as Top-Secret Clearance. It’s just not something you talk about. I never mentioned to my father who held TS/SSBI-Yankee White level and had spent some time at the Pentagon working on USAF Project Blue Book. The following is a true account.

    Texarkana, Ark, Tennessee Rd UFO

It was an early fall day, Saturday, 1964 around 10 am. I had asked a friend and neighbor, John Henson to come down to my house and help me change spark plugs on my car. It was a beautiful warm, sunny and clear sky day. As is so often the case the last spark plug broke off when I went to tighten it down. This meant a trip into town and buy a new plug.

We hopped in my truck and headed towards town. The meant about 1-½ miles down Tennessee Rd, hang a right and drive about the same distance over to Hwy 82, then left toward town.

This location is one of the highest in Miller County and it drops off real fast as you head toward Hwy 82 thru Lakewood Estates. We have made the right off Tennessee Rd and are driving into Lakewood Estates and it’s about 200 yards before you start to drop off.

We are talking away and as we approach the downhill, I look to my left and it was an OMG moment. I bring the truck to a stop and we are both fixated and flummoxed on what we saw. Yep, for real a UFO! Its large a good 75 ft across, it’s definitely saucer shaped, very aerodynamic and about 25 feet thick in the center tapering to a rolled edge about 2 feet thick.

The color was that of anodized Titanium, looking similar to anodized cookware only not as dark. There did not appear to be any seams or other openings, no windows or doors were visible. The object appeared (?) to be slowly rotating on its axis, made a low humming sound and seemed to be extremely surface hot as the air below the outer edge was a bit hazy like looking across an asphalt road on a hot day.

Suddenly the awe began to wear off and I said, “what in the hell is that” and hit the accelerator. We drove down the hill, stopped at Wooten Lake in Lakewood Estates, and then decided to go back. It was no longer there.

Where it had sat (hovered) just above ground level everything was laid over flat.

I stopped there a few more times and it had clearly left a large round open area behind. I left in ’67 and never really returned until somewhere around 2004 to visit with John Henson and some other friends I had not seen in years. I drove over there and even with 40 years passing the spot where the UFO had sat was clearly visible, large, round and open. I went there again, when I attended my 50th class reunion and in spite of it having always being a heavily grown and wooded area, there is a large round open spot where the UFO sat to this day. https://www.google.com/maps/place/3...!1s0x0:0x0!7e2!8m2!3d33.4170946!4d-93.9610246

Epilogue: Shortly before my Dad passed away I asked him about Project Blue Book, the Governments investigation into UFO’s. I asked him if he thought they were real based upon his knowledge. Never in my life had I ever heard the words that he uttered: “No comment.” He took that and whatever he did in his military career in the OSI to his grave.

The state had built a shed in a wooded area where they were going to build so sort of utility station. everyone use to walk around near (right before cell phones became a staple in life). The older kids had a porn stash there. This was the best discovery I had ever made since I found my brothers Pandora Peaks playboy in a lockbox he had.
