I guess that’s why those socialist ended up with a shit load of US surplus Garands after Mussolini got his ass hand to him!
The M1 was a NATO accepted arm. Italy became the supporter of it Italy did a pretty go job especially since Springfield Armory wasn't there to screw things up

So just curious, how many M14's have you owned? Or M1A's for that matter?

Are you some expert on M14's, or just perpetrating second, or possibly even third-hand information?

Please by all means elaborate on your expertise of these firearms. I'm sure others would be interested as well.

You don't have to be an expert on the M14 to know it was, and is, awful.

I've spent enough time with one to know that it is totally inferior to guns developed 20-30 years prior. Several military studies have stated the same

anyone who has owned or knows the history of the M14 will tell you that they are not what one could consider the best rifle, its decent at best, and clunky at worst, the US really should of adopted the FAL when they had that during rifle trials in the 50s.

Harrington & Richards would have been the ones producing them!

SA couldn't have that, not only was it a rifle designed by a dirty foreigner, it was going to be built by those dirty non-government people at H&R

Hell SA didn't even want other companies to be able to make the M14.

I want a BM59 simply because need more Italian guns in my life. Not gonna get rid of my M1A for one, tho ;)
Shuff's will build a BM59 that uses M14 magazines, if you prefer - so you have compatibility.
I thought I read about cracking receivers on them. Could be the machine guns only. Then there's the over priced magazines!
    BM59 Recall.jpeg

JRA sent out junk, properly modified GI receivers are just as strong as original GI receivers.

SA didn't like J. Garand either. They made multiple attempts to work on the Garand without him. Besides, John Garand was a US citizen by the time he started working for SA

JRA's QC has been notoriously shitty even for other guns they build tbh

I'll ask you once again. How many M14's have you owned? Or for that matter, how many M1A's have you owned?

Anyone can watch a few videos, but I'm pretty sure that doesn't qualify them to be an expert on things.
dude I literally gave you the bare minimum of evidence without having to ask some archivists for some trial reports and internal papers about Springfield armory trying to stick a magazine onto a Garand for nearly a decade and fucking it up when the Italians still did it in 5 years and made a far superior rifle, even then the M14 was one of the shortest lived service rifles and got rightfully so replaced by the M16 series of rifles.

its all literally right here and any M14 enthusiasts worth their salt will tell you the M14 is an okay gun, but its not the Be all end all as boomers with rose colored glasses like to make it out to be. the M1 Garand itself is still better than the M14 because the M1 Garand didn't suck.

So again, you decide to not answer my direct questions. Umm..okay, then I'd probably be safe in assuming you have owned neither, and are strictly relying upon what others are saying about them. Hardly makes you an expert, and apparently not even experienced with them in on the very basic of levels.

I have actually owned four SA M1A's in the past. Like any other weapon's platform, they are not perfect by any means, but they served a purpose and a need for the military at the time. They also are still used currently for some military purposes in special applications. Also still serve in some applications as dedicated sniper and marksman rifle for some environments in warfare. Hardly the junk you claim them to be.

Hardly surprising when someone's all possible knowledge of guns comes from cartoons and video games.

buddy, I think you are just coping about the M1A being a 700 dollar rifle that cant hold zero unless you dump 2000 dollars into a chassis that weighs as much as a boat anchor, you can enjoy a firearm that's bad, but don't try to make it more than it actually is, the M1A and M14 are guns that were overpromised and underdelivered in their day then, and the only reason people buy them now is because "m-muh military" and "m-muh MK14 EBR" when a 200 dollar savage with a walmart scope will outshoot even the most tricked out of M1A/M14 rifles. but if you want to hold on to some fossil of a rifle because it was american made, be my guest, but dont get asshurt about people shittalking it.

Trying to have a discussion with you is as always, just useless. Maybe one day, (which I'm doubtful.) when you grow up, a person might be able to have an adult conversation with you.

    Enjoy your day A1Sauce!

I like the Tanker, it's handy. I bought it strictly as a truck gun and it works well for that. It's been reliable through the 500 or so rounds I have put through it. It's accurate enough out to 150 or so that I don't feel the need to bitch about it. Mags haven't been the easiest to find, but I was able to source enough.

I spent a good bit of time with the M14 while serving in the Army. I was taught, if I did my job, it would do its job. I later carried an M16. I now have a few AR15s and none of them is as enjoyable to fire as my M1A or M1 Garand.
