I am not lying. I have been known to do that.
I just absolutely love the beauty of cocking a hammer, and the lightest of trigger pulls to create a glorious event. There are, of course, some savages who are all about the man-handling and brute strength.

It isn't just scary because of the savage mentality of those types of shooters, it is also scary because of the magic involved. Wait, you pulled the trigger and the hammer moved on its own? What kind of voodoo powers are we dealing with here?

What is truly scary though is when a shooter can fire a revolver double action with factory iron sights and hit an 8" steel plate at 200 yards.

The revolver Ben showed is a double action and Robert doesn't shoot double action.
I'm sorry I was so obtuse. Allow me to correct that.

To be explicit: The revolver that I posted a picture of is a single action.

Shoot my favorite single action revolver and you'll understand.

    Here 'tis:

That is a single action? Not that I am doubting you Ben but I am confused.

    Is it modified?

    Not modified.

S&W has done brief production runs of M14 revolvers (and possibly others; I'm no expert) in a single action configuration since the 1960s, at least. If you pull the trigger, the cylinder revolves but the hammer does not cock and drop.

They were semi-popular back when "target shooting" and "bullseye" were synonymous. Every one of them I've ever handled had a very nice trigger; every one I've shot has been marvelously accurate.

Ah. I know you and your involvement of the older shooting sports and figured it had something to do with that.
