I have to G40, G20 and a Rock Island 1911 steel frame. I live in Montana now and find the one that spends the most time in my holster is the G20, the higher capacity and shorter barrel makes it faster houtof the holster and on target. For the bears around here that’s important. The extra barrel on the G40 only buys me an extra 25fps with 180 bullets.I need a 10mm handgun. Which one do you like?
Being sophisticated, I lean towards the Glock 40. I am open to suggestions.
I like the 155 gr XTP and the 180 gr Bonded JHP. The 155 gr XTP don't fragment at 1500 fps, whereas I've heard the 155 gr JHP Bonded tend to fragment at the higher velocities. The 180 gr bonded JHP holds together well at 1300 fps. Underwood used to use Gold Dots for their bonded JHP rounds. Don't know if that is still true. Doesn't matter, looks like they are sold out of everything except the Extreme Defenders.Which Underwood bullet/loading do you like and why? I'm looking at them now.

I want a 10mm very badly!
The point I was actually trying to make was don't buy yourself a 10mm, then go and buy off the shelf, weak ass ammo.
Get yourself something loaded to actually 10mm specs.
S&W 610 or Rock Island Rock Ultra FSHC.
Those are great reasons to want a 10mm. Options and versatility are nice to have.
The MOS is a great feature if you want optics.
The extra muzzle flip isn't a huge difference or a deal breaker in most situations.
Got here early. Post 89!Oh hell yeah.......

I'm trying to decide between a G40 MOS and milling a G20. The Dan Wesson has a long bbl already & I don't plan on hunting with it so maybe a G20 milled.Agreed. I’ve not shot a G40 but I do have a G20 long slide and the muzzle flip is very tame.
Rather than the MOS I had my slide milled for an RMR.

Anyone know if the G40 slide is beefier than a G20? I'm wondering if a G40 MOS is stronger than a G20 slide after milling.
Yep. Most of the off the shelf stuff is basically 40 S&W +P at best. . . .
Not that there’s anything wrong with 40 S&W +P.
