Four Roses Adds A New Permanent Bourbon To Its Line Up

I was driving through Bowling Green KY last weekend and stopped a Chucks Liquors right when they opened. Great store. I was looking for some Blantons, but they had none. I asked the older guy running the store to point me towards his best bottle of bourbon, and he said something to the effect of...”this isn’t my most expensive bottle, but if I was gonna sit back and enjoy a drink from everything here, this is what I’m drinking”, and he pointed at the single barrel bottle. I took two for special occasions coming up. Then I asked about he’s favorite bottle under $35, and again, he pointed to a 4 Roses selection, so I bought a couple more bottles and left.

I have only opened the Small Batch, and it is very smooth. I drink mine with some ice generally, but I tried this neat with a few drops of water. Tasted like sitting under The stars on a warm summer evening with friends.

Thats was the favorite brand of all the Winos of Ohio Street in Whiskeyta Falls back in my day. Apparently dumb yups will buy anything as long as it is over priced. I learned this when vending bbq sandwiches a few years back. Until a sandwich hit five bucks they refuse to eat it.

Ahhh.... Bowling Green KY. Where the Corvette Museum is located. And the Confederate Kentucky State Capitol was located after the Union forced the CSA retreat from Frankfort.

Smart thinking on that. I gave up all my bad habits at various times over the years. But the freshly washed sow is pretty easily tempted to go back to wallow in the muck and mire. What is a Mother to do? Thanks.

I'm in a genetics class and we are studying the various phenotypes and how each individual can have certain specific genes for taste. Some people, like myself, can detect strong, bitter chemicals in food and drink and others cannot. It's not about being a "light weight", its just some people can taste the more bitter stuff and other people only taste mild and sweet.
