I wear a belt thus carry a tourniquet. Tourniquets are easily fabricated form other things. When at the range, or in my car, I also carry anti-coagulant in my first aid kit. I'll have to check if there is still a tourniquet in there, used to have one but emptied it all out when a bottle of Providone iodine leaked. Do not recall if I replaced that one or not.
Forgive my necroish posting but....
Why would you use a blood thinner to stop bleeding?
I'm sure you meant something other than anticoagulant. Quick clot or celox, a hemostatic agent.

Carry a TQ in my back pocket, range bag, and car. Before people started freaking out, I seldom carried it. Now seeing how some people act and everyone being on edge, I have been carrying it daily. Also have 1 on my duty belt along with a pocket trauma kit for GSWs in other spots on the body

Your right, I don't carry a an anti-coagulent but had a brain fart or was soused when I wrote that - I meant to say a coagulent. The stuff in the photo below.
After I saw that dude shoot himself in the leg at the range on YouTube a few years back, I decided to get some. A good thing to have in your first aid kit if alone at the range or out in the alone while hiking or woods hunting or anywhere.

Keep one in the truck with a med kit and other things...
For $30, you might want to invest in one. A TQ is more effective than a belt... a belt is better than nothing though.

Yes a belt is better than nothing.
A TQ can apply more pressure over a smaller area, think surgical clamp. Very important when vessels retract up the limb. A belt has a hard time getting high enough and applying the pressure in the right spot in such instances.
