Do people not ride in the winter here?! I finally went on a ride yesterday after not riding when it was 100 degrees everyday don't want to get my chestnuts roasted lol
My bike is my primary transport. I ride unless ice is a factor, but that only happens every couple of years.

I have 30K trouble free miles on this 2016 1290 SA.

KTM has a bad rep and I don't understand why. This bike has been WAY more reliable than a previous 06 BMW 1200RT and 05 1200GS. both were plagued with rear diff, ABS and dry clutch issues.
That was May '21 and now with 35K miles, the 1290 is for sale over here. Doug is well respected on TWT and I imagine the bike is in top notch shape.
    Wish I could . . .

Almost got side swiped by some idiot today. I was in the right lane, he came from behind me in the left lane and still tried going into the right lane right where i was riding. I really hate most car/truck drivers because there just stupid. Did you not me? Did you think I disappeared right as you pass me? I'm about done riding on the road out here.

    That sucks.
You're in one of the better 2 wheel areas in the state.

I am 75 and been on bikes now for 59 years. First one was a Honda 150 Dream in 1964. I rode it from Seattle to Novato California when my dad was assigned to Hamilton AFB. After returning fron the Army in 1968, I went through alot of the metric bike evolution, then went through 3 Harley Road Kings and a Heritage Softail 1990 to 2005. Now that I'm old I just tool around locally on my Yamaha Vstar 250. I just got it new and bobbed it (with a few other mods). It gets me around just fine and will hit 80 if the need arises.

Crossed my 1st wood (deck only?) bridge today on Millmac Rd. just west of FM 1484 while meandering from Willis towards Coldspring. Other than Texas and probably still in Walker Cnty, I had no idea where I was and didn't care, I was just enjoying the ride.

W/O planning and most certainly remembering, I think I stopped close to the same spot today.

Now that it has cooled down (a lot), my buddy might finally want to "do the 3 sisters". Some know what I mean, some will have perverted thoughts.
Too bad the motorcycle motel is gone. Does anyone have any ideas on cool places to sleep?

Most in here will surely know, yet still have perverted thoughts

Coming home from the Peaks in B/CS tonight I saw this in Roans Prairie. I asked the guy if he got lucky at a sidewalk sale and he gave me a 1/2 ass FO look with a simple No.
Guess he was on the bad end of the deal. Lol

Or bend it. Not knowing any better at the time, I hauled an 1100 from Houston to Boulder in a Uhaul truck on the side stand, strapped of course. The bike leaned extra far making me nervous until I got rid of it.

Horrible pic I know, but that's a Bald Eagle working the L. Livingston dam. It's not uncommon to see a single Eagle and once or twice I've seen pairs in the area.

If I was on that work crew and saw an Eagle that close up, I'd turn into totally unproductive, googly eyed jelly. LOVE those majestic birds!

And later that day at a C-store south of Livingston, a sleeper pickup parked. White, std. cab / long bed Silverado w/decent but nuttin' fancy rims. It was NOT happy idling !

I was ready to roll when he came out, clearly carrying lunch. He didn't head in the direction I wanted to go but fuggit, it's my day off so let's see what happens. I followed by quite a few hundred feet while he kept crossing the right stripe; maybe eating n driving? Suddenly, BOOM . . . he took off straight as an arrow and you'll never guess what I did. :green:

This went on for many miles, each passing slower vehicles, sometimes 4 at a time but while he took some questionable risks, I was rather proud of my restraint when the risk was too high. 'twas another good day riding. :)
