Hell yes, I'll share my age, anyone here can have 50 of mine!
That way I can get back to racing flat track bikes again...
Have taken CHL a couple of times in the past 25 years, but never followed through, never seen the need.
Carried when I figured I may need it.
An SAPD officer told me once that it was better to be judged by 12, than carried by 6.
But times are changing, and with Bexar having a Soros DA, things getting wilder here in San Antonio, and the fact that I'm retired, it may be time to get the training one more time, and follow through.
I'll be 52 this fall, and I've had my carry permit...for a few years now. I'd have to do the math. I've had it long enough that I had to renew it a couple of years ago...
I'm 70 and got my first CWP or LTC in Virginia in 1994. Moved to South Carolina in 2001 and got one there. Moved to Texas in 2020 and got my LTC as soon as I could.
In Virginia in 1994 they were issued at the discretion of your County Sheriff. Luckily, my sheriff had his head on straight and would issue to anyone that qualified. At the time, Oliver North couldn't get a CWP because his sheriff didn't like him.
75 also, 1997 Tx
had to return the license to TX when I moved to GA for a few years. That early law had major penalties for not returning the license and no out-of-state capabilities.
Re-took the class when I moved back to TX in 2014. The GA license was easy to get but had lots of restrictions on it back in 2001 making it pretty worthless.
61 and never I've never had a permit to carry. I've traveled many states and not once did I ever worry about it. My immediate life is far more important than a damn permit.
