ETA at 2217:Just saw the affidavit, seems I was wrong with my guess about this not being serious enough to justify a raid.

You did not see anything I wrote suggest that either.

"Did," he resist? Did they do a proper announcement? Did the ATF just start breaking in unannounced, and he thought it was a home invasion? Too little info! Usually means someone screwed up.

These no knock raids need to be called what they are, murder raids.

It rarely works out well for the raidee, but does for the raider. Just a fucked up legal way for the government to murder their citizens.

Is the ATF claiming they knocked, announced, and the guy fired at them? Feel like I read that earlier in the thread.

Not arguing if it’s true, just curious if we are barking up the wrong tree in this particular case.

....because no criminal has ever identified themselves as a LEO during a home invasion.

In my initial post, I assumed this is what happened.

I believe you are correct that this is their claim.

I guess we all need a .50 BMG semiauto pointed at the front door all the time, right? I assume AP on that platform can defeat both body armor and those police shields. And now that Fostech offers 20 round drum mags for the Barrett...

    :)
