. As for the Vettes only the old and crusty can buy them and they don't have the gusto to lay into the throttle to enjoy the car as they sit there and putter along.

Get in front of my Camaro SS, young whippersnapper, and you will be searching for your doors in the ditch. :D

    Somewhere here nor there....
Alright, let's get a fundraiser together for some good cause and get the 3 of you or more out on say a runway drag racing side by side to a 1/4 finish line somewhere. I can help facilitate it if there was any serious interest?

Then how about the JFK Shuttle Runway? It's good enough to run 270mph in a 1,200hp Hennessey Venom.

That said, my vote would be for San Antonio Raceway on an open night.

Uh, that test was performed at JFK Space Center. Hennessey does not have an airfield runway or anything close to it. He has a 1/4mi drag strip that turns 10sec cars into 15sec cars with its nonexistent track prep, poor track surface and terrible transition half track.

Rented one of those in Hawaii. Although they are quick they are not fast. I did flog the car up and down the road to teh volcano which was a blast and I posted here about it.

Livin' the Muscle Car dream since '81. '69 GTO. Costs $3800 new. Not exactly stock now @ 600+hp. 0-60 3.2 seconds. Low 11's in the 120's quarter mile. Very streetable if kept below 65mph and you don't try full throttle below 45. Are all the new cars safer, more drivable, more comfortable? Sure. Do they garner you more looks of appreciation and thumbs up? Do they actully sound like a real, large bore, high compression V8 that sets off car alarms from a block away? Not a chance Bub. Would I like to be able to afford one of the new breed? Sure.
