9mm. Id love the 45 but if the 9mm runs, I will probably carry it. 18+1 is some serious capacity. I like a heavy pistol for winter carry

I can shoot just fine but id rather have it and not need it then get jumped by a group of people and have 8 rounds

I meant thats why I liked the recon commander because one mag is 18 rounds instead of 8 or 9.

Its all personal preference but mag capacity is a big one for me atleast during the winter

I'd rather carry a few magazines with 7 or 8 rds. in them than an 18 rd. mag. I'd have to have suspenders and two of those 18 rd. 1911s just to keep me from tipping over or walking in circles!

(I don't have much ballast or bulk on me at 6-2 and 170 lbs.)

Yeah, I ordered a 2 mag carrier for the 1911 when I ordered the holster, keeps me more balanced, LOL.

I just stick with Glocks for the plastic fantastics but Walther makes really nice guns
