Its pretty simple...if you truly think he stole it then pursue it. If you aren't sure and are just reaching then its probably best to leave it alone. Forget whether you have proof...let someone else search for proof. Why would you get fired for reporting it? So what if the other guy runs his mouth afterward? You really have so little self control that you can't avoid a fistfight? I would imagine that if you file a report you wouldn't be working side by side any longer.

    Sent from Kate Beckinsale's closet.

You asked what could be done. People gave you answers, and now you want to do nothing. Why did you even create this thread?

So you never got your keys back and yet you think there's no reason to file a police report? I'm not suggesting that filling out a piece of paper is going to magically get your money and keys back tomorrow, but it will start a paper trail in case something happens in the future.

If you're worried about someone in particular getting in your truck at work, be sure to park in plain view of any security cameras that your employer may have.

No cameras. Im filing a report and confronting the guy tomorrow. Going to ttell him I filed a police report if you have my shit it better magically appear and your going to get a HUGE break this time, if not good luck.

Even if I getmy shit back...good luck Im just blowing smoke up his ass in the hopes I get my keys the money is for sure gone.

dude, just go back to your boss, and tell him he needs to resolve the situation, or you're escalate it. Any big company will have some sort of whistle blower line. If your boss doesn't do something, just blow it up there. Then go file a police report. Chances are they'll do it over the phone.

Tell you're boss you'd blow the 100 dollars off, BUT you believe he has your keys. Which can only mean he plans on coming to your house... Which is a much bigger deal...

Then QUIT leaving your valuables in the company vehicle...

Confronting the guy is not smart. Good grief

You have no proof, in your own words.

Accusations do more harm than good.
Keep quiet on the blame. Raise hell about the theft.

Lock EVERYONE out of your stuff.

Mike, a couple of times in my life I jumped guys who turned out to be NOT responsible for ripping me off.

Several times I whipped butt on guys who WERE guilty and had it coming. While it felt pretty good to smash guilty heads, the horror of finding out I was wrong on the others was something that I wouldn't wish on anyone. Karma has a way of setting these things right and doing it correctly. If you can't PROVE what happened, it didn't happen.

Most fools who rip off a friend, can't keep their mouths shut. They'll talk, it gets back to you and then you take corrective action.

Like TXR says. Let it lay and see what happens when the dust settles. Do nothing.... for now.

How large is the company? I spent my career working for a large outfit and we had the resources to deal with something like this so perhaps my perspective is skewed, but I was a bit taken aback by the notion that your boss was so unhelpful.

    1. Your fault. Never leave your valuables where anybody can get to them - at least without having to break through a lock or something. Why on earth would you let him mess around near your stuff like that?
    2. Confronting this guy without any proof could get you in a lot of trouble. Bad idea.
    3. Boss won't do anything? No company I know would ignore a situation like this. Boss is either a douche or is in on it.
    4. Idle threats are also a bad idea. Guys like this don't give a crap or they wouldn't steal in the first place.
    5. Is any action you can take right now worth losing your job over? If no, then you're gonna have to move on and be wiser in the future.
