OOOOH - you need to post detailed reports on the 6.5x284 when it happens. That looks like it would be a fun cartridge.
It is but can be a pain too.

Expensive factory ammo and cases. Known as barrel burners depending on how you shoot it.

A couple hundred fps over the other more popular 6.5s.

I had a Savage LRH in it but the upgrades to make it a good long range gun for me outweighed the gain and I sold it.

Still popular for long range shooters though.

I've been wanting to build a custom gun for a while and really like the .264 win mag I already have so I figured I would give it a shot.

Keeping my goals pretty basic. Get the 4 or so rifles sighted in and dialed that I haven't been able to yet.

Better optics on the 30 .06, get dies for all my calibers I don't already have dies for, and maybe pick up an 8mm Mauser.

3 rifles left to sight in, 4 if you count patterning the new shotgun.

Quality does not matter so much if not bolted down and the thieves have it at their house.
I just figured that most people who buy small safes don't know to bolt them down.

Well, new goal for 2017. Buy a 300 blk upper for my AR lower, mount a P-223 Nikon on it, find some decent supersonic ammo and sight it in. Then find lots more decent ammo.

Make expert in IDPA (missed by 8 seconds in January), and above 50% in C cat in USPSA.

Buy the wife a new Ruger Mark IV for her birthday if the prices go down a little.

Try to make more time shooting. Work always seems to interfere. Finish my 375 raptor build. Learn the long range game. I'd like to attend some different types of competitions and see if any interest me.

As a final goal, and I know this is impossible for some of you, I want to be more of an ambassador and less of an ass on here.

Well mine are gonna take all year or more but here we go!

-Finish range at my ranch right now I have 4 targets from 10 yards to 100 yards. I want to pour concrete pads to shoot off, put in longer distance targets, and build shooting tables
-AR 9mm build
-Better place to store ammo...right now my wife is pissed that the closet has so many ammo boxes:)
-G26 to trade off EDC with G43
-suppressed game
-Thermal scope for at least one rifle to control hogs/yotes

Shit i may need another job!
