Plenty of those critters here in Angelina county. I’ve also seen a few shrews. They are tiny.Very familiar with those other critters & snakes, but I had no idea Texas had moles.

Common in East TexasVery familiar with those other critters & snakes, but I had no idea Texas had moles.
Where in Texas, do “moles” exist ? I’ve seen lots of prairie dogs, nutria, rats, etc. but never a “mole”.
A good friend would've been there with a video camera.Saw my first snake of 2022 today. Opened the gate into my back yard and the snake came directly at me, slithering between my feet. Yes, I screamed like a little girl and danced my happy ass 10 feet away before I realized it was a green snake and totally harmless. Also it was about 1/4 of an inch in diameter (though surprisingly long - maybe 18 inches). The snake and I parted ways amicably.

Not sure what kind of village people gayness this pic was taken for, but when fighting wild fire ( brush, grass, forest) you do not wear bunker gear, lol.Actual unretouched photo of S using his snake gun:

Although, When Austin Fire Department first came out to assist with a prescribed burn we were doing ( they “invited” themselves) they showed up in mid August in bunker gear and were dropping like flies after about an hour. Not sure what kind of village people gayness this pic was taken for, but when fighting wild fire ( brush, grass, forest) you do not wear bunker gear, lol.
Watched a 6 footer make his way up the lake behind my house this morning, Brazos River snake or water moccasin? Could not tell.
Right you are! in the three years I've lived here , I've seen one 6' cotton mouth which I skinned after a 5' away head shot from my dock. There is a 4' Brazos River snake who lives in an Ivy patch by the water in my back yard... I named him Elmo because whenever I go out back I say to myself "Where's Elmo!"At 6 feet, it was probably a rat snake or a huge watersnake (prob rat snake) - moccasins don't get that big in general.
Amazing looking western rat snake.Diamond back copper moccasin. Oh my!

He had just ate an egg in my neighbors coop. I got him to regurgitate it, and he was like, I don’t want the egg back.
Do you really believe a snakes throat is dirtier than a chickens butt?
He washed the egg off.
You're holding that while he's alive?!Diamond back copper moccasin. Oh my!
