I don't really have that big of an issue with the "gouging" because it's the buyer's prerogative if they want to pay stupid prices for something or not. I do take issue with the canceling of orders and telling people to re-order at the new higher price.

    More important is this BS:

to me it seems like there are a never ending supply of newbs who blindly spill their hard earned money into shit companies. It's a friendly reminder is all.
Now Bill - if we was to stay away from gougers there wouldn't be anyplace to go these days. I'm just glad there ARE newbs - that means the anti-gunners are not winning, but we should also know that folks need to make their own mistakes.
Someone else asked my opinion on CTD - I'd call them "Can't Trust'em Dirtbags".
But - I'll likely go to their store because I *like* to wander around in gun stores - especially *new* gun stores. Then I bitch about the high prices and leave. Twofer! Entertainment and I get to let 'em know what I think.
But what I was referring to was the fact that it seems a lot of folks are hell-bent on imposing their opinion on folks. Somebody asks I say let 'em have it. Otherwise assume they have at least the smarts God give a billy goat and let 'em be.
We all think the folks that made a living scarfing up all the 22 and selling it at gun shows are dirtbags and will say so to anyone who'll listen. But folks buy the stuff anyway. If those folks thought that was ok then let 'em be. Sure they're part of the problem but we're all about freedom right?

    Agreed.

BTW, DFW folks; if avoidin' givin' CTD your hard earned green money stacks is your thing you should probably be aware or by this here post made aware that Fort Worth Gun off of Eastchase Pkwy is CTD.

I was in there today talking to one of the managers and asked him "Hey feller, ain't you guys CTD?" and he said "welp, we done used to be but we done broke ourselfs offa that damn mess". "Wur a totally diffurnt company now yessir we is". To which I responded "but still owned by the same fellers right?" and he said "Yup, tha skin maya changed but tha blood remains tha same" and I said "Wull I'll be danged. I dun thunk I reconized these here same format price tellin' thingamajigs. I right thank ya kindly fur that thur good infurmatin you dun just gave me. I'll be right certain to let all mah friens know".

TLDR: Fort Worth Gun = CTD in drag.

Impressive store but I won't give them my money. I ordered a stripped lower and will pay the same price plus transfer fee to avoid the lack of integrity of CTD.

While the wife was fingering all the crap in the World Market this morning, I walked down to CTD just to check it out.

Was surprised to see it hadn't opened yet. On a Saturday morning at 10:30. The weekend before Christmas.

Seems they're not to eager to sell any guns around here.

They continue to try and rape folks on 22LR....ammo...The are still paying normal prices for their $50.00 bricks they want us to buy.

When I get their flyers it goes straight to the trash can...

:police: Several months back I ordered a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm from CTD. It was nearly $50.00 cheaper then everywhere else I had found the gun. The shipping was free and I picked it up at my local FFL dealer. That was my only dealing with them and I had no complaints.

Glad you got lucky! I've been reading about poor service from CTD for the last 10 yrs. or more on different forums. I have never had any dealings with them and probably won't. Be safe.

Yessir, business is business. It's a free market. They can charge what they want, and, yessir, I can shop where I want.

I DO NOT want to shop at CTD. They ain't cheap, they are dirty, so I choose to spend my funds ELSEWHERE. That's just business. Now, had they acted like other businesses in the same time period, notably Midway and Brownell's, I'd be happy to still shop there. They didn't, so I don't. Simple.

Regarding those guys that bought all that ammo at double what it's selling for now... Good luck selling it at break-even prices, much less a profit. I still see standard velocity CCI .22LR in gun shows for .12 a round... Wonder why the boxes took so dusty and shop-worn...? Hmmm.... Could it be the free market at work??

So I went in there yesterday to kill some time. I had a good time oogling the gun porn (OMG some seriously nice shotguns waaaaay out of my range).
Nice helpful customer service folks, anything you need to build an AR from the ground up (except keymod stuff).
No deals I could see but they did have a nice selection and some uncommon items.
All in all a pleasurable hour and no money spent as they were *not* cheaper than dirt - and I didn't feel "dirty" having done it, YMMV.
