    Covid Stupidity you ask?

KSAT (I'm sure they aren't the only one) running a banner at the bottom of the TV screen, like it was election night listing every country and US state and their corresponding Covid cases, deaths and recoveries. :banghead:

Anyone know if OSHA is closing shop for the next couple weeks due to the Coronavirus?

    Asking for a friend.......

If they’re anything like FAA and DoD, its telework for now.

We’re about to see a halt in fed regulatory inspections for a variety of those things they do in person or are recurring and required to conduct business.

    That’s going to be interesting.

Work sent out an email stating we aren’t supposed to travel for the next two weeks and to refrain from socializing outside immediate family unit.

“1. For the next 2 weeks no leaving town unless an emergency.
    2. For the next 2 weeks, Practice (sic) social distancing...only be around your immediate family outside of work.
    3. If you choose to not practice #1 or #2 you must not come to work and go on a 14 day unpaid self-quarantine.”

I’m also told to ensure everyone understands the policy. I’ve also been forbidden from having the whole shift get together in the lunchroom for meetings right now. And if we practice social distancing on the shop floor it would be tough for folks to hear.

I wonder about the legality of item 3.

Several companies that are paying the initial 2 weeks or are providing quarantine pay are saying if you do something stupid like travel or go to spring break you are shit out of luck beyond any standard sick pay.

Right to work, right to get fired.

No sick pa where I work anyways. If you get sick or they feel anyone has been exposed they will send you home along with anyone they feel you might have exposed. You get paid whatever vacation time you want to burn.

    Don’t like it? Quit.

So no matter how sick you feel, or are, come to work, infect everybody, but at least you got your paycheck.

It is a mystery of the universe how some companies survive with such moronic business policies.

That's my policy. Come in sick and man up.

If you got to watch everyone share drinks and cigarettes what does it matter anyways.

I don't think a company should pay people that miss work because they have the sniffles. Seems most people burn up their sick days when they aren't sick anyways.

Get paid to work sick and get paid to go to the lake and use up the sick days.

Q: Would signs or hand signals be helpful?
Q: Bullhorns or PA an option?
Q: At what point does immediate worker safety get thrown out the door?
    1. Not sure how to sign in Spanish.
    2. No, but would be funny.
    3. Not quite sure what you mean. We try to keep folks away from each, best we can now, and some wear masks. Lots of noises to speak over.
