The messed up part. Pulling a stripe off his arm would have been all that was needed. Not this Obama circus. Not this way.

    He overreacted. Period.

Everyone keeps saying that, but nobody is saying what he reacting to? That is the unanswered question.

If he just slammed the girl for no reason at all, he should be fired. But they did not fire him. There is more to this than we are being told.

Im betting he was paid a nice severance package to resign that came with a gag order.

Yep, after an investigation. Instead ironically, the chief over-reacted by slamming the officer before the results of the investigation, and before even interviewing the girl, who as I mentioned earlier, has not filed a complaint.

BTW, for folks that do not know, McKinney Politics is a a disaster:

March 2011: City hired Jason Gray as City Manager. Why was he the best candidate? Gray had been City Manager of Celina (a city with 6,000 population). McKinney had a population of 130,000 at the time. Even the Dallas Morning News commented, "Celina’s population of 6,000 is pint-sized compared with the 131,000 in McKinney."

May 2012: Jason Gray is unable to sell his home (his City Manager contract stipulates that he must move to McKinney) due to the $56,000 lien on it from a judgment from credit card lawsuits (See ithere). The city gives him $55,000 in taxpayer money in order to sell his house.

October 2012: In 21 months, Jason Gray fired or forced to resign 20 key City personnel, the most noteworthy being the announcement of Police Chief Doug Kowalski's termination via a YouTube video! Watch it here. According to the Dallas Morning News, due to all the firings, the City is forced to pay $650,000 in severance packages WITH TAX MONEY. Read the article here. In a PR nightmare, the news goes viral and McKinney and Jason Gray become the laughingstock of law enforcement blogs and websites around the U.S. .

October 2012: McKinney is named THE LEAST TRANSPARENT municipal government in all of Texas (based on requests from City officials to the Sate Attorney General to squelch requests for public information.

October 2012: Gray fires police chief TO MAKE ROOM FOR HIS FRIEND, Joe Williams. GRAY DOES NOT INTERVIEW ANYONE ELSE FOR THE JOB, NOR DOES HE NAME HIM "INTERIM" OR "ACTING" CHIEF. He also gives him $22,000 MORE IN SALARY than the previous chief (who was in the job for 12 years). NOTE: Williams had previously been the chief of police in the tiny, tiny town of Celina (6,000 population). They had about 6 officers. McKinney has about 237 on MPD staff.

December 2013: Gray's performance review is made public. (Read the article here). Three of council gave him ranks of 0s, 1s and 2s (completely unsatisfactory). Some quotes from the review are "Mr. Gray lied to Council" and Mr. Gray "has poor relations with City Council". Other comments are that he is "unprofessional" and works less than 40 hours per week.
December 2013: Gray responds to his review by requesting a $60,000 raise! Somehow, he manages to get a $10,000 bonus. According to Town Square Buzz, "The document, (signed by both Gray and Mayor Brian Loughmiller on Nov. 19) states that Gray’s base salary will remain $191,000 but he will be given a $10,000 performance bonus".

    February 2014: Gray is fired.

March 2015: Conley is hired as Chief.

Well that sorta explains the perceived hot headedness don't it? He's used to working alone and being Mr. Trooper Dominator

Those officers actually chased and arrested the guy.

Agree. They were clearly headed over to defend the officer from the two advancing men. If they had been coming over because of the drawn gun they would not have made it over at that point. That was bad situation.

McKinney Officer Dealt with Two Harrowing Suicide Calls Immediately Before Pool Party 911

(Casebolt’s attorney, Jane) Bishkin said Casebolt had responded to a suicide call where, “at an apartment complex, an African American male shot himself in the head at a pool side in the complex.” She said the suicide was in the presence of the victim’s family, children, other parents and other children.

Bishkin said Casebolt helped secure the scene and photograph the body, and “spent a considerable amount of time consoling the man’s grieving widow.”

His next call was for a teen threatening to commit suicide by jumping off a roof. Bishkin said Casebolt calmed the girl down and talked her out of jumping so that she could be safely transported to the hospital.

Agreed. Out of twelve responding officers, only one was behaving that way. He is the example of "how not to do it". If not for his actions, the instigator of that party might have actually faced consequences for creating the disturbance. Now her charges have been dismissed.

Reports this morning are that he had come from a suicide attempt (maybe successful) and was out of it. That explains a lot, but does not excuse.

Maybe resigning in the best thing for him, and could save him from bad things happening in his personal life in the future from too much stress.

The video clearly shows the demeanor of the other officers. This guy was the command officer on scene. Yet no other officer mimicked, the officer in question, actions.

It appears to me, Two fellow officers defused the gun drawn situation. Not easy to do with an officer that out ranks you. Enough officers understood half the crowd had cell phones pointed their direction. This officer didn't give a Damn.

Considering the local culture, listen to the gasps of those, white and black, as the female, 80-90lbs child is slammed to the ground by her hair. It's disgusting.

I want to know who the fat white dude in the blue shorts and tan shirt is. He almost steps over the girl like she's dead meat. He's walking around watching this crap like it's a lawn being watered.

Exactly. If police are too retain any sort of support from the population, this sort of activity has to end. Again the other officers were acting calmly. He was flipping out.

She was talking back to him. That was it. Then he flipped out on her.

It's on one of the videos.

LEO or not you can't go around slamming kids into the ground because they talk back to you. It doesn't matter what the situation is.

It's called self control and he lost it.

When you tell them to disperse several times, they do not, then you detain them and they refuse, then ya you can slam them on the ground. Act like an adult, get treated like an adult.

I think people feel sorry towards the girl because she was a teenage girl and yes, her race.
If the video was able to be edited and this female
    voner-mugshot.jpg

was the one the officer was trying to detain, I know for a fact the sentiment would be different.
